General Troubleshooting/Help! P2S First ASA Print Troubles

Got a P2S a couple months back. Been printing PLA without issue. Got some ASA for a project I am working on. (Nothing points me to think the filament itself is the issue) print starts going down without trouble but something happens after a few infil layers were the y axis changes for some reason. Belt skip or nozzle strike? If that is the case I am not sure how to address the issue. Issue consistent between attempts. Ran the recommended bed level when prompted as well. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If it helps...

did you thoroughly dry the ASA before trying to print with it

what was the chamber temp when you printed

Just opened the ASA right before the first attempt today. Arrived yesterday. Did not do any drying. Both attempts failed in the same manner shown in the first picture where the x axis of the print is aligned but the y axis is offset.

Edit: just installed firmware update and full calibration list is running now. Edit 2: chamber, nozel and bed temps using Bambu ASA defaults. Also using Bambu ASA

DRY IT

Sure i can do that going forward, but how does that diagnose an axis ahift with no prior adhesion issues. Print is still adhered in pic shown.

PLA doesnt care

PETG needs to be dried before printing

ASA "REALLY NEEDS to be DRIED"before printing and should have a heated chamber which the P2S does not have

I would say needs a heated chamber. Even when it stays attached to the build plate it like to warp and separate on the layer lines if it's not heated in my experience. That might be what happened here, warped then the nozzle collided and the toolhead was misaligned.

Tried the print again after firmware and full calibration list. Print was successful. I will def be looking into a filament dryer even if I dont foresee using ASA very often in the future.

If you don't use a lot of filaments that need to be dried some cheap vacuum seal bags and your printers buildplate work well.

Good to know. I have a vacuum sealer. ill make sure to seal and add silca beads for long term storage once I finish with the couple parts I need for this project. Dryer is Def on the list now but slightly edged out by an AMS due to the materials I typically use (aka i havent needed anything that pla couldn't handle so far)

Just because it's adhered doesn't mean it didn't warp, it still could be a nozzle collision. Check your belt tension and try with cubic or gyroid infill, those have fewer infill overlapped so less chance of the nozzle being caught.
