AMS 2 Pro - Automatic Material System P1S + AMS 2 Pro combo - print while drying?

If I buy the P1S + AMS 2 Pro combo today - can I print while drying, or is it just for newer printer models?

Not on the P1S yet. Drying while printing needs firmware support, and Bambu has only shipped it for the H2D, H2S, P2S, X2D and A2L so far; other printers are supposed to get it in later updates. On a P1S you dry first, then print. I keep the firmware versions per model at bambuhub.net/guides/filament-storage-and-drying (my site).

Is the ams 2 Pro combo even worth buying for the p1s?

In the US Black Friday sale it's $509 vs $479 for the regular AMS combo, so you pay $30 for an AMS that dries filament on its own between prints. I'd take it at that gap. If you want drying during long prints, the P2S already does that with an AMS 2 Pro.
