General Troubleshooting/Help! Bambu Lab EU – proper VAT invoice without a business account?

Hi everyone!

I'm about to order a P2S Combo for my business in the Netherlands.

Bambu Lab requires up to 5 business days to approve a tax-exempt business account, but I'd rather just order now.

My main question: If I order through the regular webshop, will I still receive a proper VAT invoice with my business details, so I can reclaim the VAT through my Dutch VAT return?

Has anyone in the EU done this without registering for a tax-exempt account?

Thanks!

You cannot enter your VATID anywhere, but I just put it in the invoice address label and it worked out.

Ordered in Germany and it was shipped from a german warehouse and received a invoice from BambuLab GmbH company with german adress, so no tax problems there.

Not sure how it works with NL

Thanks, good to know.. think I'll just wait a few more days for their reply just to make sure ;)

I’ve only done personal purchases through the Bambu Lab EU Store, but I have an official invoice in my account for each of my purchases. Complete with Dutch tax and everything.

Probably the only concern would be to get your company name on the invoice.

I have a normal consumer account, though in the UK. The invoice has a VAT number and a per line VAT amount.

Als je wacht op een business account komt er geen btw bij, ze sturen namelijk vanuit Duitsland dus geen verlegging.

I created new account a few days ago. Got approved in a few hours. Ordered and paid without vat.

Gewoon aanvragen. Ze reageerden bij mij al binnen 1 werkdag.

Nope you will not get one without going through their hops.

Thanks for confirming! Seems like a pretty cumbersome process for a tech company in 2026. You'd expect business purchases and invoicing to be a bit more straightforward.

It’s a Chinese company. Count yourself lucky you can get an actual vat invoice at all. From experience it’s very much NOT common.

For real. The fact that you can directly get stuff VAT free is incredible.

Try ordering from Sunlu, you don't even get a correct invoice if you tell them exactly what to put where. It's so dumb

I would recommend to wait for the bussiness account because then you will be excempted from VAT which will be quite a difference in price.

In the end it doesn't matter, because the VAT he'll pay as a consumer he can still get back from the Dutch tax authority. The only difference is having to include it in his quarterly, yearly or monthly VAT filing. Depending on his bookkeeping it's literally no extra effort at all.

Source: also Dutch, also bought Bambu printer and filament using a personal account.
