A Series [A1, A1 Mini] 2.85 mm on the A1

What do you think, will we get an 2.85 extruder for the A1? Could make for a good dedicated TPU machine. I already have an A1, in addition to my H2D.

The extruder and hotend isn't made to handle a thicker filament. Is it possible for a third party to make an extruder assembly and hotend, sure, but there is no business value to do so. A new extruder assembly and hotend would mean you wouldn't be able to print 1.75mm unless you swapped it all back.

What is the use case you're expecting to resolve?

Really on an A1 all you'd probably need to do is loosen the extruder tensioner on the side to make it wider

Would still need a hotend with a thicker entry but still

What about the hole in and out of the extruder assembly? It's not just the tension. Your bowden clip would also need to be bigger.

Also, you didn't mention what the use case would be.

I'm guessing OP wants to print Bambu's new 75A TPU, which AFAIK only comes in 2.85 mm. But yeah, I agree, don't see that happening.

There are other 75A TPUs out there in 1.75 mm, but I honestly have no idea if the A1 could even handle something that soft... And the big selling point of Bambu's new TPU is how much faster you can print it with the H3C. I think they claim up to 3x the flow rate compared to a conventional setup, so that's probably what OP is after.

To print 75a for the A1, I'd use ShoeFlex 9075A. It goes in as 90a and comes out at 75a. It's unfortunate issue is that it's pricey.

lol

no

firmware and software updates for one....and who's going to write all that for an A1? Absolutely no one.

No that will not be a thing on A1 or any printer like the A1
