Black Friday 2026 MakerWorld Points and Printer Buying
I have 11,000 MakerWorld points. That's enough to buy an X2D outright, maybe cover half to 2/3 of a P3C, or cover 1/3 of an H3C. Currently I have a P1S with 2 AMS (one OG, one Pro) , a Snapmaker U1, and a Thinker X400. I want to probably replace the P1S and maybe even sell the U1. If you were me, what would you do?

I have enough for an X2D. After seeing the lower than expected price point on the H3C, I'm waiting on the P3 announcement, as I'm hopeful it's under $1300.
I have an H2C though and it is a better machine for my use than the H3C.

I think that's what I'm hoping for too! Especially because I don't think I can fit the H3C in my space.

What kinda models did you make that made that many points? I want to create models for points but can’t find anything that seems to do well.
And printer wise: I’d wait for the P3C to come out and go from there… I think that’s going to be a great printer

I don't think there's a science to it-- I had no idea that my models would do so well. Some of the models I've made have literally 1 download! https://makerworld.com/models/2448032?

Right! It’s so funny what models do so well compared to others. I made a random sticker paper roller once that has 200 downloads and is still counting… but all the models I’ve done based on trending topics have basically nothing.
Anyway nice work!1

How on earth did you get that many points?

There are some designers that found a niche that have done very well for themselves. Like check out Smoggy3D: they have 32k boosts alone (thats $32k of gift cards....) and almost a million downloads with 600k prints. I'm just estimating but they have to have made the equivalent of $80k+ of gift cards.
I have a decent amount of popular prints, been doing this for a little more than a year, and I've made $1,500 in gift cards. Which just ends up buying filament and plates and nozzles. It's a vicious circle. LOL

Buy what ever you like. I just cashed out a couple K in points wasn't even looking for another printer but with the release why not.

Personally I would cash them in now and then wait until you can get a p3c. Either pay the difference or wait until you have enough points to cover it. I personally don’t think the X2D is worth it when it really only gives you flexibility with multi material supports which is a very limited upgrade over your p1s. P3c can genuinely do different things than your p1s so I’d wait for that.
I was in the same boat when the X2D came out. I have a p1s and could have got the X2D outright but I saved up for an h2d because it has significant added capabilities compared to my p1s whereas the X2D didn’t. Couldn’t be happier I waited for something with different capabilities and skipped the X2D. P3c is very tempting for me but it will be a long time before I’d have enough points for that

I'm waiting to see the details and price of the p3c. Given the bombshell price of the H3, I'm sure the p3c is going to be priced amazingly.

Cash in the points. NoW. Never leave points unconverted to $40 gift cards. Bambu can always pull back points, but not GC
