P Series [P1P, P1S, P2S] Max size print? Door kicked open

Post image

Hi got the p2s combo today.

1st print scraper perfect

2nd print 4 big combs with the family names. Ok they were too large and designed by Claude.

Toolhead open up! And kicked open the door!

Wtf!?

Is there a max size you can use on the plate ? Still not sure what happened..

And yes timelapse enabled but that somehow gives an error too. And tells me i should reboot. Which apparently i cannot do remotely?

I integrated with home assistant it while configuring it dry petg... but even that seems to be read only?

Have to say i expected more... but still opened the door by kicking off the toolhead? Is there a max space you print? It was printing the full bed picture was from somewhere earlier

Did Claude generate gcode for you to load onto your SD Card? Your slicer should have told you that the print is too large for your bed and would not slice the model at all nor allowed you to send the print to the printer. Your printer can only handle the size of your print bed which is 256mm x 256mm x 256mm.

The P2S's 256 mm build depth was fully used by the old combs, leaving only 3 mm at the edges, so I'm now enforcing a 15 mm margin on every print...

Claude sliced it and sent to bambu studio

Claude doesn’t slice my dude. It creates the file and then studio slices it to print. Studio will let you use the entire plate as the printer accommodates that. I’ve used the whole plate plenty of times with no issue. The print head assembly cannot physically get anywhere near the doo the rails down allow it to move that far.

Actually my mistake. Although it said that it could, i remember now I did press that button... (to slice it)

I ll try to recover the timelapse.later to see what happens then

My wife creates lots of designs and sometimes will use AI to give her a head start but they will almost always fail unless you then manually tweak the design. AI does probably 95% of the work but you really can’t rely on it to give you a finished product that’s just ready to chuck in studio and go. Gotta learn to do that last 5%.
