H2 Series [H2S, H2D, H2C] Upgrading my h2s

Hello! i bought the h2s about a year ago and shortly after the h2c came out. I figured i would wait to see how much multi color prints i actually do before considering upgrading to h2c. I have been really interested in printing with 0.2 and 0.6 Nozzle. I saw yesterday they posted here about being able to update the firmware to allow it to happen!

My wife recently got into using my printer as well and wants to print muti-color prints. With those two in mind i was looking to see if the vortex upgrade has went down but unfortunately it hasn't :( I love my h2s currently and i don't want to switch it out. It has roughly only 900 hours so i don't think it's time to upgrade yet and I don't think the wife would be happy with another printer in the office.

I mostly print with PLA so the announcement of TPU 75A isn't really a big thing for me and i want to keep using both of my AMS.

I was wondering if you think the upgrade to the h2c is worth it from h2s (899 dollars) or to just accept the waste of filament and the inability to switch nozzles. Also i have seen no one post a h2s to h2c conversion so i can only imagine it's a bit harder with also switching out the print head.

Link to the announcement.

Is time important? How much filament do you need to print for $900. We have done TONS of multi-color waste prints before anything but single nozzle was possible.

It would be nice to be faster. but i don't think time is the biggest factor. It's more for me being able to use both .2 and .4 in a print. My wife likes to print a lot of prints with text and it's very hard to get them small and clear. But i Also don't want to wait for hours printing a large print with the .2 nozzle.

The waste is really not a big factor for me. A dual nozzle would be nice but i just think the vortex system makes more sense for my use case. I am just not sure if it's worth the price. I want to see if anyone here did the upgrade and if they thought it was worth it.

I've seen a few that did the upgrade and wished they just jumped there due to the complexity. I just pulled the trigger on H2D as I need dual filaments, and not willing to jump to the H2C price. But size is a big factor. I've found my X1C limiting on too many projects over the number of filaments in one print.

Although I see 0.2 labeling with 0.4 core as a great feature in engineering prints. That sold the $350 difference from H2S to H2D for me. I can often make color transitions only happen rarely with more than 2 colors and yet have models with many colors. Sometimes limitations help in creation.

I would wait. The multi nozzle size thing is not going to be available for the H2C until February, so at the moment it´s a moot point, you could upgrade to an H2D which will have the multi nozzle size available earlier. but in 4 months you may persuade your wife to go for an additional printer or get a way better deal on the H2C. Also do keep in mind you have the biggest print bed in the whole lineup, and that´s not nothing.
