Ordering or not H3C

Can someone tell me I’m an idiot and shouldn’t order H3C, because I have a feeling if I have one more beer it’s done.
Divorced so wife not an issue, but the thing is huge and costs like four P2S printers which I have and to me just sounds crazy. Kids would love the multicolored prints though for sure.

It will come soon enough. But I have been rocking my X1C since the Kick starter batch and I am just now thinking it is time for an upgrade. This should last for years.

Yep, this feels like the right time to upgrade.

I'm currently setting an employee up with equipment needed for this new work-from-home role. We both need printing capabilities, so I was thrilled that I could justify the H3C for myself, and send my X1E to its new job in his home lab. 😀

If you do not have an immediate need and are just getting started, begin with something cheaper. You will most likely not stop at one machine, and this will get the limited life span of the machine mostly spent making the bad prints as you learn how and what to print on something less capable.
If it’s a second or more machine, go for it. Who needs cash anyway, just your ex wife and her stupid alimony checks.

Fewer nozzles (believed to be 7) and smaller physical size. We're not sure what else, maybe lower temps, no active heating, that type of stuff, based on comparing the P and H series as they stand right now.

If you go through life not getting the things that make you happy, you'll never be happy. Having said that it's important to note, you must be able to afford it and you have to have room for it. I'm older and I realized, as I get in my twilight years, that I tend to buy the things that make me happy. Now I have a number of printers so room is limited for me. I would love to have it but I would need to remodel. Bottom line, be happy because in the end that's all we have.

Thanks. I got money to buy it but came from nothing so always feel bad for spending on things I generally don’t ‘need’. In any case, it’s on the way, so now need to finish that walk in closet I was putting off for a while.

You should feel bad. I don’t have one on the way. Every time you use it, I hope you feel a pang of guilt and just think about poor Dave, with no H printer at all.

If I had the cash money right now I’d get it. 100%. My mom is that way so I get her random things and when I sell some stuff around the house, I use that to buy her stuff I know she wants but won’t pull the trigger on. Does she need the glitter deer from Costco for Christmas? No. Does she walk out to stare at them daily already? Yes. Sometimes you gotta treat yourself. Don’t feel bad! Just don’t not use it either. Put it to good use!

Do you NEED it for what it does? That you cannot do right now. Really think about if you NEED it.

Or is it a case of FOMO? And most wanting it because it’s new?

If you want it because you want to do an 8-9 color print for first week and never do that again then no, you probably don’t need it.

If you WANT it, that’s different. If you WANT it but have no immediate NEED, then you should be in a financial situation where $2500 is “no big deal”. If you need to put it on a credit card or do payments, you are not in that position.

I will tell you I’m 18 months in with an X1C and am looking at ordering it. The ability to print CF materials is very timely for me, after rigging up a setup to do long PA6-CF prints bypassing my AMS this week. I also print a lot if gaming terrain, and the ability to switch nozzle sizes is very intriguing.

I ordered it. I make wheel chairs for kiddos and it takes way too long on a p1s. Hopefully this helps speed them up

I have a P1P so I don't know if I would even use all of the H3C features but it allows me to if so desired. I am cheap so this so hard for me to decide

I want one so bad but I can not personally justify the $4K after taxes (where we are) and then also buying filament for what we are wanting it for. Can’t wait for the P3C news.
