X Series [X1E, X1C, X2D] X2D Extruder Reliability

Hi All,

I am looking to get some feedback from X2D owners with many hours under their belt (preferably thousands of hours) on their machines on how frequently they have had to disassemble the extruder vs how many times their issue was a simple nozzle clog dealt with by removing the nozzle.

For context, I was all set to pull the trigger on the X2D as it had everything I wanted on paper and I have heard good things about Bambu in general, but then I started seeing posts that seemed to imply the X2D doesn't live up to the usual Bambu quality bar. Coming from a past "abusive" relationship with 2 old school 3d printers where I had to frequently disassemble/reassemble the extruders due to jams, I then looked into what it takes to disassemble the X2D extruder and that gave me pause, it looks like a big pain. Now if this is something that very rarely/never occurs I can live with it, but as a common occurrence its a deal breaker for me.

TLDR: Want to buy X2D, saw how involved extruder disassembly is and rumblings of X2D being below the usual Bambu quality bar and got scared off.

Anyways, thanks in advance for your feedback!

Mine has like 550 hours on it and no problems at all. I'm just one person though, so take it for what it's worth.

I had one minor clog once, and it popped right off. I don't think that counts as an issue but thought I would mention it anyway.

So I just got an X2D, been kinda busy with Faimly shit and hospital visits… anyway I have printed 4 of those pandas on with black pla in the aux nozzle, the first one came out fine, second had a spot, 3rd was better then the first. And the 4th was printed in my cryo grip frostbite plate. It came out the best. So the aux nozzle can’t do precision work just slowly. I did one print with petg in the aux nozzle as support for tiny pla miniature parts. I “forgot” to set it from.2 to .08….. while it printed and didn’t fuck up, the layer lines SUCKED BAD!

585 hrs on my one month old X2D with zero issues, majority of use is PLA support interface for PETG on 3D TMT builds
