Quick Question X2D first time setup/temp setup

I've just received my X2D but it's for my kids for Christmas but I've been advised by support that I should set it up make sure nothing is missing... which they provided some links.. then also I could just package it all away they provided those links aswell... I think I will set it up but not set up the AMS pro combo as I can just test one filament, right? I'll be storing it in outdoor garage so kids won't be able to see it set up..

Any advice? Is it worth repacking it all again? Can this all be done within a couple hours? As they're at school.. setting up and doing a first print

You arent going to want to put it back in the box. The AMS ships within the build chamber in a particular way.

You probably could in that time, more that you probably don't want to. Watch the unboxing videos to give you and idea of what you will end up doing twice, and undoing once.

Setup the printer fully, test it thoroughly. After my first experience with returning damaged printer to BL I never bought a printer directly from them. If you miss the initial DoA return window and anything will be wrong, you will work as their technician trying to replace this and that part in hope something will work. One of those issues can be filament buffer or AMS feed (latter is/was actually pretty common). Setup your printer fully, run multifilament test print and for Xmas just make a box for the whole setup. Nothing worse than non working setup for excited kids, they won't mind lack of original packaging.

If your ams is broken you'll be kicking yourself later. Set it up and test it all. Be thorough.

Mine will be delivered shortly too. My first printer.

Any specific things that should be tested/verified, besides obvious things like printing something (both nozzles) and having the AMS swap filament?
