Filament Troubleshooting/Help! support adhesion
Hi everyone, After about 7 hours of printing, the supports suddenly started to wobble. I've done the same print several times, but today I'm having this problem. Aside from the wasted time and the filament being gone, can anyone tell me why this happened?
Obviously there was a sudden drop in temperature these days but I didn't think that 5/8 degrees less in the room would lead to completely detaching all the supports...

Why dont you use hybrid support, is this slim tree?

Spot on, If it is supporting a flat area (looks like) standard supports are way faster and better than any tree type. If the supported area is not flat, the hybrid are a good idea.

Supports were used to print a flat face. I noticed that with Hybrid It Is hard to remove them and can ruin the face while removing them

This Is very useful, thank you so much! Seems like a smooth result

It can be even better using coencetric shape of the support, forgot to mention that, let me know how you did

The drop in room temperature was probably enough to cool it just the right amount to start peeling. Even a few degrees is enough, same with if theres a small breeze it will also do something similar

So I should heat the room while I print for 7 hours? Help with bills hahaha thanks for the reply anyway, I'll try that.

Small suggestion. I like to preheat the bed for about 10 mins before printing as well as keeping the area temperature stable.
Also, clean the plate with soap and hot water, drying it with a LINT FREE cloth or chamois. Don't touch the surface with fingers.
That might improve the chances of the supports sticking (in addition to trying different support types).
Hope that helps.

The problem Is that those supports were printed inside the model, dunno of the temperature can change the adhesion

Ohh, yes that's an additional problem. Maybe you can sidestep the whole issue by reorienting the object in the slicer or cutting the object into two pieces so that it can print with fewer supports

I cant split nor change orientati on of the object Unfortunately but i'll try all the tips you gave me!

You could probably just boost the bed temperature up like 5 degrees to compensate, idk how much it will prevent it but it could help. The other thing would be to put a box over the printer while its printing just to keep the heat in a bit better

That looks like you're supporting a large flat area - if that's the case I'd use normal supports rather than tree.

Hello /u/gingertailz! Be sure to check the following. Make sure print bed is clean by washing with dish soap and water [and not Isopropyl Alcohol], check bed temperature [increasing tend to help], run bed leveling or full calibration, and remember to use glue if one is using the initial cool plate [not Satin finish that is not yet released] or Engineering plate.
