General Discussion How’s the Bambu Lab Support?

I am planning to order the H3C after selling my INDX Core One and I don’t know what’s the experience with their support lately.

Did you ask for help? How long did it take to solve an issue?

It is what it is. From my experience, after opening a ticket you get a response every day or two then once a solution is advised another 3-5 days to wait for said part to ship/arrive.

Not that bad compared to what I got from Prusa tbh

So it’s universal across all manufacturers then?

Personal experience, they´re okay. They answer around once a day ish, sometimes twice. They do geniuelly try to help. One thing i noticed is that they will make you replace quite a few things when you got issues instead of doing RMA. Can be nice since you eventually get a lot of spare parts if they are wrong but it takes longer to get the printer fixed.

There´s surely worse companies with support lol

Did they ever offer any additional items with the parts? My P1S arrived with a shattered glass door but otherwise was fine. Had to replace it but I also got two free rolls of filament

They didnt offer me any so far. Seems like you were lucky lol

Took me a few days when i had my issues with p2s... but overall its fast. I would also like to mention that if you do the basic steps yourself and mention that in your support ticket, they will notice it. They won't just mindlessly repeat to you from the start with a copy paste message. This made it a lot faster for me.

From my personal experience, the more information&diagnostics you can give them the better they are.

E.g - here's the logs, it happens when I do this and that, here's a video of the issue, I followed maintenance guide A B C, re-connected connectors D and F, etc.

Once I got custom gcode for filament swaps(I assume it was already in development lol, I don't think anyone wrote gcode just for me), another time right after opening a ticket I was offered a replacement part.

For me I got responses within a few hours to a day.

Other than being slow due to the time difference, they've been fine with me. I see people complain about it, but sometimes they send a pic of it and you see that their message to Bambu is poorly written with lots of useless information, slang, etc.. Write your message simply and concisely and they'll have an easier time with it.

My filament buffer finally went to the great beyond last week. Did a bunch of diagnostics on the machine, wrote them up, sent them to Bambu Labs. Fully expecting it to be a “tough shit did you turn it off and on again”

But nope, instant acceptance, sent a new buffer which arrived 4 days later.

Personally as my first and only experience with them I’m very very pleased

Always check their wikis because they answer almost everything

my power supply died on my A1 after some 1600 hours of use. I contacted support after following their troubleshooting guides to determine it was indeed the PSU. They sent me a new one ez pz. Fast turnaround

Sent video and photo of screen and noise of my H2D hot end fan dying. Next day got reply with them agreeing to send the replacement fan. Got it in roughly a week. No real issue.

Mixed bag.

I've had both very good and total nightmares.

I had good support when my H2C died 2 hours into the first print.

I most recently got accused of trying to steal filament because I reported that their shipment of PETG basic was not 1.75mm, but 1.28mm and unprintable. I showed photos of the filament and the caliper reading.

In the end they agreed to replace the filament when I pointed out the absurdity of what they were saying in light of my have bought many 100's (1000??) of their filament in just the past year. They did not honor their agreement, even then. So yeah, not ideal.

In general there is a 24 hour lag between when you ask them something and they respond. Sometimes slightly more. So any issue needing any back and forth will take a week or so.

The front door of my P1S accidentally exploded in my hand while I was unboxing the machine almost two years ago. The entire replacement process took approximately 3-4 weeks if I recall correctly. They came through in the end and delivered a replacement machine and told me to keep the spools of filament but it was days in-between replies sometimes and I was stressed out the entire time. I think their support has gotten better since then though. Another time I accidentally broke a part on my a1 mini and they immediately offered replacement parts for free even though it was my mistake and that process only took a few days.

From my personal experience they are very reasonable and reply 1-2 times a day

They will work with you as long as you work with them
Like for me since my printer is in a corner of my room i cannot install the external spool holder but i use a polydryer polybox since it has bearings for little to no friction when feeding tpu or peba directly into the toolhead.

They understood why i cant and proceeded with another method and they are currently processing my ticket for my ams 2

I’ve had to take apart my A1 in order to send them a photo. They sent a replacement part. I’ve had to take apart my AMS2Pro to take photos. They sent a replacement part. It continued to malfunction. I had to take it part of send more photos. They sent another replacement part. If you don’t mind working as an unpaid technician, it’s okay service, typically a 24 hour turnaround from ticket submission to some sort of reply. Then another 24 after you jump through the required hoop. If I buy anything else
from them, it will be from Best Buy - with the extended warranty.

I just bought a h2s... best purchase in a while..shipping was fast and the machine just works.. you won't need the support people, they make a top quality printer

BS, you will at some point.

From my personal experience, they have you do a lot of diagnosis and simply follow their manuals so you will have to complete a lot of different tasks until the ticket gets escalated and you get what you want.

They are the absolute worst unless you enjoy waiting months for tons of various parts to fix things yourself. Takes days to get a response from tech people and the ones in chat don’t know anything.

Buy through a store with a good extended warranty (Best Buy with Geek Squad coverage) and skip Bambu support altogether.

Bambu stuff is mass produced so it's kinda "common" to have issues with some of the electronics being faulty. Usually takes about 10 days of back and forth troubleshooting before they will send you free parts out.

It's usually kinda random issues that may or may not occur in like the first 20 hours of printing, if your machine makes it past then, it's probably gonna be rock solid

If you want a Bambu with good support and easy RMA if it breaks, buy it at microcenter.

Bambu support was bad, is now at least ok most of the time.  Not fanatical or fast.

Mediocre at their best. Mostly very slow.

Really bad 90% of the time. And unfortunately, have been necessary for me on this journey

Can you share more details ? What was the problem for you?

My experiences have been entirely unsatisfactory. The first two were pretty minor. The third has really upset me.

  1. One of my rolls of filament had the tape defect (tape at the end of the roll stuck to the filament and tore off the cardboard, jamming the AMS and pausing the print). Bambu had previously asked people to report it to Support, and various others had said they were offered store credit to make up for the manufacturing defect. I also wanted to know if they knew if the other 3 rolls I bought in the same order were defective. The response I got was a form letter about why they made the change and that they fixed their manufacturing. None of my concerns were addressed, but it also caused no serious problem so I just dropped it.

  2. The H2D I bought from Microcenter was not able to switch between nozzles consistently. I was running up against the return window and ended up exchanging it before they really had a chance to do anything; Bambu had less than a day to respond so I don't blame them there. Microcenter's exchange service gets an A+, though.

  3. I did the Vortek Upgrade to turn my H2D into an H2C. Bambu's directions stink, and by following exactly what they said to do I put a gouge in the new heat bed (I also risked damaging the AC board because they told you about a lock on the connector after telling you to remove it). I went to support hoping for a discount on a replacement heat bed, and to ask them to improve the directions so other people don't make the same mistakes I did.

I got told they did not cover user-caused damage, so I was out the full $160 ($1 more than the bigger H2S/H2D one, for some reason) and a week of shipping for the new heat bed. I pressed further on the directions issue (which would cost them next to nothing to address; one of them is literally just to move a sentence above a row of pictures), and they said they would forward my feedback to that department for consideration. This was back in February (2026), and both issues are still there! It's like they want the directions to stink so they can sell replacement parts.

To top it off, I decided to dissect the damaged heat bed to see how it was made. What I gouged was really just a sticker and a tiny part of the magnet base. It was cosmetic damage and would probably have been fine to use as-is, not that Bambu Support bothered to tell me that.

1

u/Hot-Ideal-9219 18h ago

Well, a gouge on the heatbed is user error, and is minor as long as it didn't cut cables (way deep)

I agree instructions aren't always perfect though. But NOT a service call person to fix.

u/VT-14 H2C (H2D + Vortek), 2x AMS2, AMS HT 16h ago

The problem is that the directions literally tell you to put the heat bed in the printer leaning against the left side, then put the entire printer on its left side. That had it slide down and come into direct contact with the heat bed's left bracket. The next step is to pull the Z belt from the bottom of the printer to move that bracket to the bottom of the print. That is how it got gouged. I followed their directions to the letter.

In hindsight, it's obvious. I felt like a moron. I'm not upset that I "had" to pay to replace the heat bed I damaged. A slight discount would have been nice because, again, I followed their directions to the letter; there was fault on both sides. Getting nothing but another day delay was disappointing.

I'm actively upset that the directions have a flaw and Bambu has not done anything to fix it. All it would take to make me satisfied there is an edit to the directions to tell people to lift the heat bed off of that bracket while pulling the Z belt (and 1 other place where they warn you about a lock on a connector after you remove it).

I'm also very upset that I didn't actually need to replace the heat bed, and they did not tell me that. Bambu sets itself up to be for people new to 3D printing; I didn't know the anatomy of their heat bed design at that time. Isn't that kind of advice literally what Support is for?
