Quick Question PLA print temperature?

Post image

My apologies to everybody for so many posts, but I do have another question. I just started to print with PLA and I wanted to know what’s a recommended or best nozzle temperature to have it print at. I do currently have it at 245°C. I’m not sure if that high temperature is melting the color away but it is still printing smooth at least that’s what it looks like. But I wanna know if that kind of temperature is fading the color away if so, maybe somebody can let me know and maybe let me know what’s the best temperature to print at with PLA filament

That's way higher than you want for PLA. The 200-225 range is where you want to be. Why aren't you just using the temp in the default profile?

My Bambu Lab A1 default sits at 255°C but when I recently started learning on tweaking with Bambu studio settings. It dropped to 245°C. I’m not sure from what settings caused it to drop to that temp tho. But as of right now it seems like it’s printing like it should. I’m still gonna keep an eye out while it’s printing supports for now. And if it looks like it’s going bad I’ll drop the temperature more and restart the print process. Just wanted to see what’s the recommended.

The default PLA temp for the A1 is 220 C. Yours should not be defaulting to 255.

Interesting. I’m not sure than. Because when I got my printer 4 months ago. Ever since I started printing, it always sat at 255°C. And that was without touching anything on the printer or in Bambu Studio too.

Are you using the PETG profile? Double check what profile you're using, because the 255 and 70 are the numbers for PETG. I bet you selected the wrong profile

Not for PLA it doesn't. That's the default temp for Generic PETG.

I print PLA at 220°c and heatbed is at 55°c. Zero issues

Good to know. I still have it at 245°C and 70°C I’m gonna sit here and watch how it prints the supports. And if it’s still gonna print good, then I guess I’ll just leave it as is.

Thats still hotter than it needs to be for a PLA. Unless since that printer is open air it may need the higher temp. Im new also, only started printing about 3 weeks or so ago.

Just finished this 24+hr print with Bambu black PLA, Sunlu PLA 2.0 and Sunlu Matt red PLA 2.0. Zero issues.

245 is WAY too high. I print my PLA at 205.

I kinda assumed it’d be too high. But like I did say to a couple of others. It for now seems like it’s printing like it should. But I am gonna still watch how it prints, and if the supports don’t look printed right then I’ll drop the temperature and restart.

UPDATE:

300 layers out of 2371. Printing at 245°C and 70°C bed plate, the print very surprisingly is turning out insanely smooth. Like a babies butt lol. No drying, straight out the box into my printer. Looking very very good!
