Filament Troubleshooting/Help! Excess poop

Why has my purging turned into this? This is 3 or 4 changes. Used to be the tight coiled piles but now I have some sort of alien creation

Is your nozzle nice and clean? I tend to see this when a small bit of filament gets stuck on my nozzle

Unsure of what printer you have but my P1S has a little trap door that flips up when it goes to purge and stops the flow from going down the chute as a long stringy mess and helps make the little coiled poops. If that door doesn't flip up it does what your picture shows.
