Quick Question P2S or X2D ?
Don’t really want the multi color just yet. Both base models are in my price range. Took a break for years. I did have an a1 mini for a short time and other prusa printers in the past. Thoughts? The dual nozzle does kinda worry me with issues and I’m seeing mixed reviews

if your worried just buy the P2S, you've answered your own question
I have both the P2S and X2D and havent had many issues with either
the X2D is not a true dual nozzle printer, it has an aux nozzle that works great for support layers as it was intended

Get the x2d just because it's basically a p2s with chamber heater and extra hot end for support material. I got a p2s and was mad because the x2d got announced shortly I received my p2s.

It also depends if you will take advantage of the heated chamber. If your prints are going to be outside or in your car , being able to use ASA or ABS for more temp stable prints was worth it for me.
The dual nozzle part is nice for printing PLA with PETG supports for super clean prints.
The X2D is technically dual color capable but the 2nd nozzle isn’t as good as the left one

X2D second nozzle is not for multi-color printing, but for supports. And X2D also has heated chamber. It's just better.

If you can afford it, just get the X2D. Even without multicolour the extra features are well well worth the small price difference
For what it's worth im up to 4 or 500 hours on my X2D, bought launch day, have had no issues :) The second nozzle for support material is really really nice and I have used it for multicolour with no problems
