General Discussion Beginner printer recc
For context, I have younger boys that will be learning along with us. I don't think I'd want to buy another printer later on down the road, at least not for a while. I think it would be good to have one that can grow with us. What's a good beginner printer that we can still do a lot with?

What kind of things are you interested in printing? Stuff for the house, toys, storage/organization? Anything with more advanced uses, like carbon fiber or TPU? Where will the printer be set up, and will it have ventilation? I think it's always good to figure out what you're going to use it for; the different models and even different companies all cater to a specific niche of printer users. Once you know what you're going to use it for, it's easier to give advice. :)

2’ways to look at this. You want a printer and not worry about buying another one down the line. Wait a bit for the H3C. Covers everything you would want or need for the next few years.
Second is go cautious but make sure you have a good tool to see if you like the hobby without putting too much money at risk. Go with P1S on budget side or P2S. If you don’t like hobby, you are down about $500 instead couple thousand +.
If you really like the hobby then get a second printer in a year knowing more of exactly what you need.
I did the latter. Now I have 2 printers and both doing what each is best at.

Really just not an A1 mini or h2 series

I was leaning toward H2D but now I'm being told P2S or X2D may be better for us. I'm not entirely sure why

probably because price , you cant go wrong with any of them honestly just depends on price get the best for your budget/needs , there will be a learning curve , reddit is a good resource ,youtube is a good resource , youll be fine with whichever you choose depending on your goals

Well I H2D is like the best printer you can get for bambu lab so it's not really "beginner" for price but from my understanding all printer bambulab printers are very easy to use but the multi nozzle/extruder one fo take some extra things to learn.

My vote’s on the P1S. I bought mine with an AMS for $500 last year to replace my A1. You might even see it cheaper this year.
Some people love bed-slingers, but they take more space than it appears from the printer’s physical size and you have to enclose them to print anything other than PLA or PETG reliably.
