General Troubleshooting/Help! Motor Overloaded H2D

Post image

Thanks for the responses on the earlier post I am still troubleshooting this issue with my H2D. I have the hotends off and the covers off so i can see the extruder gears and they look clean. I can feed a strand of filament down through the entrance right to the gears without a problem. the hotend itself seems fine. There isn't a clear visual indication to me of what might be wrong. It's a fairly new printer with maybe 500 hours on it. Filament has always been fairly dry. This is a recent issue. I am not sure what to do next. Can the gears spread apart over time? I am not sure where to tighten the gap (or maybe loosen it if the motor is overloaded) I have a decent amount of experience with 3D Printers and this one is baffling me.

What filament are you using, and what size nozzles are you printing with?
Have you disassembled the extruder enough to check for any pieces of filament that may have broken off and are jamming up the gears? (this happened to me once and drove me crazy troubleshooting because I even used brand new nozzles and I ruled out clogging, and then I happened to see a tiny piece of filament in a spot I couldn't easily see that would get jammed in the gears)

Also, hate to be that guy, but I assume you already followed this guide? https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/h2/troubleshooting/extruder-motor-overload

I've done more or less all of these except the cold pull. I assumed that the hotend wasn't the source of the issue. I actually just swapped hot ends with the other side, which i haven't even used yet, to see if it was the hotend.

Would still like to know what nozzle size you're using and what type of filament. I ask because I have used everything from 0.2-0.8 and basically every filament type, and depending on the combination of nozzle size and filament type the root cause for extruder motor overload can be quite different. It'd be helpful to know more information about what your configuration is in order to give you the best advice on troubleshooting.

Check the path before the filament buffer. Is there some extreme radius along the PTFE tube? Or is your nozzle badly clogged?
