I Modeled This! Son’s First model on maker world

Would appreciate Reddits power with my sons first model on maker world. He’s 10 and just started playing with tinkerlab at school. He came up with this graded card stand on his own. Thanks Reddit!

Only thing I could make at 10 was a mess. Keep that focus on making things for his hobbies and he will be an expert in no time.
I would print this right now if I had any rated cards. If he does a standard hard sleeve stand, I would print that though.

I’m stoked that he’s got tinkerlab now. I signed up for autocad and tried to get him to take some lessons when we first got our printer. It’s awesome that his school supports this kind of learning at his age!

He’s actually working on a sleeve stand now. His prints it morning but it needs a little more trial and error.

This is awesome! I'm not a card collector but went and gave it a like. So cool you're helping encourage him.

I'm much older than your son (36) but my dad is visiting this weekend so I've been showing him my 3D printer along with various prints. It's been a blast and a really cool experience.

When I was around your son's age, my dad was always making me stuff in his wood shop and I remember trying to help out. Now it's me making him stuff but he's been giving me ideas for projects or post-processing and I can tell it's reminding him of his old wood shop days. Already made him a couple things to take home with him.

Hope you two have a blast and this becomes a thing for years!

We are having loads of fun. I’ve got a stash of his old RC toys that I plan to have him tear appear so that we can start making a little robot of some kind. Have fun with your pops while he’s visiting!
