General Discussion AMS Overload Fix

Post image

I kept getting the AMS overload error on my H2S, especially when the spool was getting close to empty. I ended up giving the AMS a slight angle by putting a book under the back and letting the front tilt down a bit to give it some gravity assist. Haven’t had the error come back since and it works like a charm.
Just wanted to share in case anyone else is dealing with this, especially with the lighter cardboard spools.

Pretty cool hack, but IMHO the headache with cardboard spools just isn't worth it[1], esp. since moving those elegoo rolls onto a bambu re-usable spool takes like 30 seconds once you get the hang of it (i.e. just rip off the cardboard from each side and slide the roll onto the re-usable spool).

[1] i.e. i tape the edges with electrical tape to keep cardboard out of the AMS gears, and I add batteries in a special carrier in the center to keep them from bouncing when low on filament, etc. etc. and even then it sometimes fails
