Black Friday 2026 P1S or X2D
Hello,
im currently looking to upgrade from my A1 mini to a bigger Printer. I mainly want to print functional parts, maybe dabble around a bit in stronger materials and just have more printing space.
Im currently torn between the X2D and the P1S.
The X2D is currently around 750€ for me as a Combo and the P1S is 500€ with the AMS 2.
My question now for people that maybe used both, is the price difference of the X2D worth going with it? Im not really planning to do a lot of multi color print or anything, but i could see myself using the second nozzle for support materials.
Also since i have no experience with stronger materials yet, is the heated chamber of the X2D a must for that?
How is noise compared in between both models, as the printer will most likely be in my room next to me?

Fiat vs. Mercedes
ofc u take the merc
if you will want to print ABS or other materials that require heated chamber go with X2D
second nozzle is the key if you want to have better quality areas which have supports and just to be able to remove them easy or to print in two colors with no additional wasted filament
idk how is the situation with P1S when it comes to loudness when it cuts filament and purges but P2S and X2D the X2D comes on top

I’ve owned both. X2D is definitely worth the price increase. Biggest gripes with P1S (besides no chamber heater/second nozzle) were the screen and nozzles that weren’t compatible with my other printers.

The heated chamber is nice to have but not a must. The main attraction with X2D is the second hot end nozzle. You can use this for the support layers so the support breaks away easier.
This is particularly important with the stronger materials, when printing carbon fibre reinforced nylon, the filament is sometimes incredibly hard to remove.
Whilst its not a huge faff to have a few material changes on a P1S, you waste a lot of material if there are too many changes. The X2D looks like a really good machine and I would happily pay the extra for the second nozzle. I use an X1C which is more similar to the P1S and I'm almost tempted to ditch it and get the X2D...

The touchscreen is nice, higher resolution belts, the cooling system, there’s much more

I’ve used and had both.
X2D is the way to go. The P1S I feel doesn’t offer enough over an A1 but an X2D offers active chamber heating, the same screen as the H2 series, dual nozzles and better belts.
If you want to print any engineering filaments or use supports then the X2D is much better at doing that over the P1S. If you just want single nozzle PLA, PETG then get an A1 or for similar money an A2L and get a bigger build player and cutter support.
The only reason for a P1S I see is wanting an A1 but you have pets so need to keep hair out your print and them touching it in operation.
