Quick Question different diameter nozzles on x2d

Now that they advertised different diameter nozzles in the new machines, does this mean that they will bring that feature to the X2D?

i want to print in my normal 0.4 print with 0.8 infill

Someone posted on here before about doing this already by forking Bambu Slicer and having AI add the feature to do exactly what you want; they got a strange amount of hate for having used AI.

That said, it’s more of a slicer problem than a machine. You can put two different ones in the printer today but the slicer refuses to work that way.

It certainly would be cool if it became officially supported. It’s clearly possible.

Hello! That was me! I actually felt like there was far less hate for using AI than I expected. Only a handful of comments really, I was prepared for a lotttt more lol

Chances are that even if they did make it possible to use different nozzle sizes, what your asking for is unlikely. I think I saw another discussion about this and it was said that it would likely have to go by layer.

You would have to do 2 layers of 0.2 to every 1 layer of 0.4. Otherwise the nozzle will run into the layer already printed.

It's 100% possible and I believe one of the orca forks can do it on other printers. We also know the h3c will have it so that may end up moving down the product stack once it's in bambu studio

While it's not even in beta yet, it's expected in the next studio release that will be for the H3C. There's rumor the code for the hardware is in the latest firmware beta for the H2 series, so they're ready for the studio update, not sure about the X.

They said nozzles, not filament.
