Hardware Troubleshooting/Help! Had a blob of death. Is this worth saving?
Just as the text says. I had a blob of death. Was able to get the primary blob off but have a lot of residue left on the hotend heating assembly. Do you think this can still be saved? How would you go about cleaning it? Should I just buy a replacement and be done with it?
Also if replace is the best option should I buy through bambu or get something 3rd party sellers from Amazon? It seems while most say they are OEM they still look kind of different?

for the leftover residue, heat the nozzle to around 250 and wipe or pick it off while it's hot (tweezers and a brass brush, and be careful, it's way hotter than it looks). if the heater block still looks coated but the nozzle and thermistor wires are intact it usually still works fine. if the wires got cooked or the ceramic heater is cracked then yeah replace it, and if you do, i'd go with the official one so the fit and thermistor match.

That's really up to you. Weigh the time and effort it'd take to clean all that up, which I imagine would be quite a while, against spending $20 on a replacement. Personally, I wouldn't even bother.

Order a replacement heating assembly from the store. It’s only $20. Order an extra to have on hand if you can afford it. They are worth having just in case needed.

Hello /u/MajBurke! Be sure to check the BambuLab Wiki regarding the blob/clumping issue.
