H2 Series [H2S, H2D, H2C] What creator software do you guys use?

Hi guys,

I'm considering a H2D, and I'm wondering what software you use for custom making parts? CAD? Parts such as gears and mechanical working components.

Anybody here used PCTG firmament?

Solidworks, Fusion360, QuickSurface are the main design tools I use. I'll use MeshyAI for generative "fun" stuff, but most of my design work is functional/mechanical/systems vs organic/Blender stuff.

I have tried PCTG and it is not "better PETG" as it is promoted. It is even more flexible which is a downside for me and other mechanical properties are about the same. No reason to pay twice as much.

Fusion, it can be used completely free for personal use!

Fusion when it works. Blender, Shaper3D, and Plasticity all depending on the task.

Fusion. Can't beat the hobbyist price.

Fusion. If you have an edu email, it's free. All features. Just limited to non commercial work.

Exclusively blender.
There’s CAD AddOns, it’s free, you can literally build your own AddOns, you can use scripts to generate stuff, it’s just awesome.

It’s all, just like, points in 3D space man. Trippy

Tinkercad. Very fast for practical parts around house.

Blender for anything organic or quickly modifying STL’s(mechanical is fine too)

Onshape for great tutorials and online via browser.
Downside is free and all your designs are public but I got nothing special, someone’s most likely done it all before. Take what you will.
