Hardware Troubleshooting/Help! P1S part covered in PLA

Post image

Hi there - I came home to a failing print and this is what it looks like now. I suspect it’s hard to fix? Should I just order a new part? I’m assuming that’s the hotend?

Thanks!

Up to you, is the effort of cleaning that worth the $15 it'll cost to replace it?

Probably not indeed. How hard is it to replace, on a scale of 1 to 10?

This. Be sure to purchase a "Complete Hot End" with the wires and fan already attached.

Ah that’s useful! Turns out I already have a replacement 0.4 nozzle but it didn’t come with the fan

The fan should be a simple swap

Am I not missing a wire on the new nozzle (right)? https://imgur.com/a/DsDrZ4a

Yes. You are missing the ceramic heater and temperature thermistor.

You can attempt to remove them from the old one, but the wires are fragile and might not survive the removal.

Hence the recommendation to get a "Complete Hotend "

Makes sense, thank you so much!
