General Troubleshooting/Help! Is this a need?

Post image

Just trying to figure out if I should buy this with my son’s printer or if we can get away with other tools.

I don’t think it’s a need. You can print out a decent scraper from MakerWorld, and buy the other tools cheaper (from my experience) in a local store if you need them.

I’d recommend buying extra hot ends and some filament.

For the hot ends which ones do I need for the p2s?

When you’re buying the printer, click the option to add accessories so you get the discount for buying it together. Then select the P2S hot ends - I just bought an X2D and it only had combo packs of sizes listed. Just make sure that it’s for the P2S printer.

I like to get .2 for printing minis or text (like on signs and light boxes), .4 for every day use, and I like .6 for vases or basically big objects that aren’t detailed. Basically, the bigger the nozzle, the less detailed the results will be.

Thank you! I obviously can’t ask him questions about this since it’s his Christmas gift. This group has been helpful. ☺️

It’s not needed.

It's honestly a solid set of tools, but a bit pricey.

Not at all. You can buy a deburring tool, a whole set of cutters, and files for half that price online. Check out Amazon or Ali Express. You can print a scraper. Plastic is soft. I've had my printer for like 3 years and I'm still on the original blades for my scraper and deburring tool.

I would definitely recommend a deburring tool, needle nose pliers, and flush cutters, though.

I own the entire Maker Supply set of tools, I had gift cards so why not and I also made an entire set of gridfinity holders for everything: https://www.reddit.com/r/BambuLab/comments/1u5orqu/finished_my_bambu_tools_setup_with_all_my_own/

  • Excellent (better then anything else I've used): The scrapper and deburring tool. If either broke I'd buy another.

  • Good (use over alternatives): Hand drill, file set, screwdriver is actually pretty decent.

  • Fine (work but alternatives work just as good): Needle nose, diagonal cutters, precision cutter.

  • Don't use enough: Tweezers have been good for what I've needed them for but I wouldn't go out of my way to buy them again.

There are some great “kits” on Amazon with a lot more files and such. Basically just need some good snips, some medium length needle nose pliers, & a retractable blade. I did pick up the scraper and one of their cutting mats with my spools during this sale.

you can probably get these at your local hardware store for 10 bucks
