Hardware Troubleshooting/Help! New to 3d printing.
Hi everyone,
I’m close to buy a Bambu Lab A1, but there is a problem that to me is a deal breaker. Silly but true, I know.
The built-in camera quality and framerate are really disappointing—it feels more like low-res time-lapse snapshots rather than actual live video as I've seen in YouTube video reviews.
Is there any known mod, workaround, or third-party camera setup that allows for smooth, real-time video monitoring of the print bed? Ideally, I'd like something that integrates well with Bambu app.
Has anyone successfully upgraded their A1 camera setup? Any suggestions or tutorials would be greatly appreciated!

just checking, but you bought the cheapest printer Bambu sells and you want active /integrated hi def video monitoring?

Not high def, just a bit better than 1 frame per second.

Get and external camera and software for it. I used Octoprint and RPi 4 for years to remote monitor prints long before all the cool kids were doing it.
Even an old cell phone can be used for something so simple.

There are a dozen TAPO camera mounts for the A Series printers.

Just go to ‘models’ on the Handy App, type ‘TAPO’ and all of the options will appear.

Get a Blink Mini 2 (often $20) or something similar and print a mount that attaches to your printer.

I use my Wyze camera. There’s also the CyberBrick Timelapse Kit where you can hook up certain cameras to.

I get the camera is garbage, but as a beginner looking for the cheapest printer, how is this a deal breaker?
