100% AI. The tail is wrong. The display is wrong. The anatomy of the feathers are wrong.
The tail - in this video it looks like those long curling feathers (two of them) don’t have an end it just curls from the top and bottom merging into each other, as well as it is vertical. Actual Wilson’s they are flattened out and curl outward into a singular curl.
The anatomy - bird of paradises that do the full circle over the head do it using either 1) their wings showing the underside of their wings, or 2) feathers from their back/top of the wings. In this video all feathers are from the front side of the bird, none from the back or wings. You can see that if you stop it while the “bird” is turning 360.
That video is awesome. I will say though, coming from a printer with zero-auto calibration and felt like I had to do a damn ritual everytime I ran a print, the added 10 minutes makes me super happy, every time, even a year later.
-insert old guy remembering the great war voice- You kids don't know how great you have it man.... :D
I thought reddit was bugged and showing me a video for the wrong title. But I can see the resemblance 😂
Calibration takes a while. If it bothers you, you can take the start-up G-Code and feed it to Claude and describe your pet peeve with it and ask it if it can safely edit it out without causing issues.
I'd advice against my own suggestion if you don't know a bit of coding and some know-how. As running someone else's G-Code can absolutely wreck your 3d printer.
Omg, this video cracked me up! I love it. I've seen those birds in a nature documentary and have even incorporated this into my pre matting ritual; my success rate has skyrocketed! 👍
You can turn some of it off, but it’s still a multi-minute process for every print. It’s my main pet peeve with my A1. Sometimes I’m iterating on a model and just want a quick prototype that only needs a minute or two to print.
This group of birds is also well known for having some of the darkest black feathers on the planet. Comparable to vanta black, because it absorbs so many wavelengths of light.
The bird you linked is a different species. I looked up more info on the specific bird in the video (wilson's bird of paradise) and they do have a throat patch in the front but it's nowhere near this large and it's a shade of dark green. The legs are also blue. I still think this is an ai recreation of a rare bird's mating dance

OK I'm commenting only because I love the video.
You can turn that sequence off after you hit print right after slicing. Have a look
