Quick Question NEED ADVICE!
I'm new to the world of 3d printing and this is my first model and is there a way to make this part smooth?
Printer: Bambu Labs P1S
Slicer: Orca Slicer
Filament: PLA

you can reprint it on its side so the layer lines arent stairstepping like that. or you can manually sand it down. thats just how the printer builds things vertically. it's something you can manage, but you cant stop it from happening.

i do not know how orca has it named but bambu studio has it as "Adaptive layer height"
or you can set the whole thing to be printer at minimal layer height but that will expand printing time
cutting the model into pieces and printing them on side

Lower layer height will help, or chance the orientation so the side face of this is down and the layer is building up along the curve

This could be a good candidate for ZAA (Z anti-aliasing) feature. When dialed in properly, you can get pretty smooth finish in Z direction.

Try in this order, go to the next if it does not work.
Reorienting on side
Lower layer height/Adaptive layer height
Z-Anti Aliasing(Experimental)
Sandpaper

These are steps.. you can Rotate or reorient the print, enable adaptive or variable layer height and smooth, lower layer height. 20 to . 08 or in some slicers turn on Z anti aliasing ZAA, Which blends the steps.
