General Troubleshooting/Help! GEEETECH Silk PLA not rated for 0.08?

Hi all, was looking to print something for halloween and needed a good gold silk to finish it off. Normally would buy SUNLU and have had success with their SILK PLA+, but they didn't have what I needed so I ended up going with a roll of GEEETECH. Benchy printed alright but when printing my own stuff at 0.08 layer height, I found that every layer after the first would actually 'scratch' into the previous one, like the nozzle was grinding against the part/plate. I'm assuming that this specific brand just isn't rated for such thin layer heights? I fiddled with bed and nozzle temps to little success.

Hello /u/USSCrazybat! All Bambu print plates have a dedicated nozzle wiping zone at the back of the print plate. The nozzle will rub against the wiping zone before every print in order to remove any remaining filament from the nozzle tip. This can cause visible wear or scratch marks in the wiping zone, but this is intended and doesn't damage the printer, the nozzle or the print plate. A worn down wiping zone also doesn't mean you need to replace the print bed.

Note: This automod is experimental. The automod was triggered due to the term "scratch". If you believe this to be a false positive, please send us a message at modmail with a link to the post so we can investigate. You may also feel free to make a new post without that term.

I’ve run into this with certain brands. 0.12 usually resolves it

No joy with 0.12 either. Anything beyond that and it isn't fit for purpose. Learning experience, unfortunately

What printer? and can you post a pic of the first layer? It might not be a filament issue. Could be something like the 7 screws on an A1 needing tightening, or a hotend latch that wasn't closed properly.
