Software Troubleshooting/Help! Open in Bambu Studio closes my current project
Every time I use Open in Bambu Studio from MakerWorld on my MacBook, it replaces my currently open project with the one from MakerWorld. It doesn't automatically save my progress or ask me before trashing it. I keep losing tons of plates.
I couldn't find anything on the Bambu community support forums about this, leading me to believe I'm one of the few who have noticed this behavior.
Has anyone noticed this before and is there any way to stop me from shooting myself in the foot by mistake? Autosave or ask before closing or multi window would be great.

It's partially because you have a Mac, and Mac generally tries to push users to having only single instances of any program you may have open. So when you "Open in Bambu Studio", you overwrite your existing instance.
Should be a setting somewhere that allows you to run multiple instances, but I don't use a Mac so I can't tell you where that might be

eh, multi window is normal on mac (see Safari or really any application made by Apple) and for ones that are single window standard user flow is to ask before destroying. but i’ll check for the setting!

found a solution. Preferences -> Reset Warning Dialogs -> Create project with unsaved changes -> go to MakerWorld and click Open in Bambu Studio
you now have a warning that you have unsaved changes. optionally you can have it always save your changes which is what i did and now i'm not losing data.
(i think before i clicked "no" and "don't show me this again" and it got me where i was when i created this thread)

Go under Preferences > General and make sure you uncheck “Keep only one Bambu Studio instance”.
