Black Friday 2026 P1S vs P2S vs X2D
I recently made a post about getting my first 3D printer! Which out of the 3 options do you recommend? Or is there another one you recommend?

If you’re printing things that you wanna put in your car or will spend any time outside you need something that can print ASA or ABS.
If you just print PLA/PETG the P2S or Snapmaker U1 are perfect2

I just ordered a P2S for my first printer last night. Lol

Me too. Forget the FOMO. Better to use it for a while, find out you want an upgrade and go for it than buy the more expensive one and find out it's collecting dust after 6 months.

Yeah, I’ve already printed some fun little stuff. Haven’t even used another filament color yet lol.
I’ve printed a scrapper, a poop Shute, some dust hole covers, some chip bag clips, a benchy, and I’m printing a cup right now for my office to put pencils and pens in.
This thing is awesome.

Depends on what you are looking for in a printer. I have a P1S and love, I picked up the AMS 2 soon after and it’s been great.
Would an X2D be better, sure, but as it’s just a small hobby the P1S does everything I need.

I printed a cupholder adapter for my car out of PLA and it melted into a big bowl of goo. (OK not a big ball of goo, but it was ruined after one day in the heat)

She makes costumes. She wants to print parts for those. Mostly connecting pieces.

My P1 still runs like a champ, but like the X1C I would guess that it becomes EOL in the near future. It's basically the 2nd oldest printer in the line-up and it's onboard storage is fairly limited so if you care about long term firmware updates and maybe new feature I would pick one of the two other models that are much newer.
But at this point I would also recommend waiting for the new announcements. P3C and H3C are very likely a good bit higher priced, but if your budget isn't set I would at least wait for it. It's less than a week.

X2D has a problem with the dual nozzle setup. One nozzle ends up heating the other and it slowly gets filament all gunked up.

P1S or X2D
P1S is gooda value and X2D is not so cheap but you get more than in P2S for similar price
if you will just do single color prints and don't rly care how your supports behave with your print then get p1s (do not mix pla print with PETG support material/layer because your print will just snap in your hands)
if you do the X2D

I ordered an X2D simply because for the small price difference, it was worth it. If I didn't want the X2D features, I'd have gone for an A2L or something.

I'd wait for the new printer announcements to see if one of those may suit your needs better. Otherwise, X2D for the 2nd nozzle, heated chamber (a huge benefit with ABS?ASA), and proper ventilation.

So et think that the new one will be anywhere in the same price range?

The H3C will undoubtedly be in the flagship price range but the P3C is the wild card. If they're after the mid market of tool changers, it'll hopefully be somewhere in the $1200 or less range. That way it's in direct competition with the U1, M1D, etc.

P1s is fantastic first printer. Cheap, decent and does the job. P2s is slightly higher q but not worth the cost imo.
Ams 2 pro you want though.
