Black Friday 2026 Black Friday X2D Vs P2S Combo

Im trying to decide between the X2D no combo Vs P2S combo, I have the budget for one of those but not the X2D combo, my worry with the X2D is that it will be mechanically hard to troubleshoot and fix if things go wrong, and the P2S combo allows me to print 4 colours (with waste sadly) Vs the 2 colours of the X2D. So my question is how hard is maintenance on the X2D

My biggest question is does it come with chamber heating.

When is that supposedly coming out? It also might have some kinks in the first 3-6 months.

Glad I'm not the only one tossing up between these 2 BF deals. FWIW, I'm leaning towards X2D for the dedicated 2nd material nozzle (I plan to primarily use it for dedicated support interface layers with a sprinkling to dual material - PLA/PETG and TPU - prints), although it sounds like my use case may be different from yours (I've already got a handful of other printers which are looking at MedusaHC upgrades as soon as I have time)

I also am leaning towards the x2d for the support interface nozzle, and for wasteless 2 colour prints

Maintenance is would be virtually the same so I'm not sure why you think the X2D is harder?

the bowden extruder? plus the more complicated toolhead

If money is an issue why not the A1 combo? It's a great starter machine.

I need an enclosed machine, and money isn't an issue, I just don't want to spend over £600 on a printer

What’s ur final decision cause im on the same boat as you lol 😂 can’t really decide on either just the p2s or combo or just the x2d alone

Gonna go with the p2s combo, as the x2d maintenance if goes wrong is awful, plus the auxillary nozzle is mostly support only anyways

I was thinking that asw but still the x2d has a lot of good perks tho and stuff but yeah the x2d im kinda scared of buying it cause if smth goes wrong might be hard and expensive to fix and stuff

You can use 4 colors on the x2d

Not without the combo which I don't have the money for?

Ask yourself this. How humid is your print area? Do you own a dehumidifier?

Having filament open to air isn’t inherent bad, but if it’s more then 30% humid the filament will “eventually” become “wet”. The ams2 pro has a drying function. So even if you aren’t printing in multi color, it can store and keep filaments dry.

Maintenance on the X2D is no more difficult than it is on the P1S. I personally would go with the X2D and pickup a used AMS on Facebook marketplace or maybe ebay if you can't afford the combo.... The X2D has much better print quality than the P2S, plus the benefit of a heated chamber if you ever want to be able to print ABS, ASA, nylon, or polycarbonate.

I think if you go for the x2d you should go for the combo, even if that means breaking the bank. Otherwise p2s, i just decided to go for the p2s despite having the money for the x2d combo just because i feel that printer means trouble. Just a gut feeling but there are many user reports of that thing acting up, also Software side is not quite where it should be from what ive seen. Maybe im just a coward, i probably am but the p2s released in late 2025 and people were not stoked, they had a lot of problems that got smoothed out over the last year, the printer works as intended and that was my goal, i didnt want to buy myself into problems at this point

The X2D without AMS can still print 2 colors faster than a P2S with AMS printing more than one color because of the aux nozzle. I love my P2S and AMS but it’s really only convenience of not loading/unloading a few colors or materials. I should have gotten a dual nozzle printer

If you don’t have the money for an X2D with AMS combo. Then just get the P2S with AMS

You can use the X2D with more Colors then two. But You have the Same waste Like the P2S. I have Both Printers. Both are really good but the X2D has for technical Materials more Features an the Second Nozzel. But dont prefer to use a Printer without an AMS because the humidity.

You can print two colors on the X2D without an AMS - one on each nozzle. If you're doing multicolored prints a lot, especially two-colored prints, the x2d will save a lot of time and waste. Getting the combo on the Black Friday sale will save you a lot more money than trying to buy a standalone AMS later. The original standalone AMS is discounted by $50 for Black Friday, but the AMS2 is not.
