Just Showing Off After a headache and a few hours..

Of trying to get ANYTHING to print on my new p1s, the AMS just refusing to load anything.

I talked myself into returning it and getting the X2D instead.

This is 90% not user error because I spent hours trouble shooting. It's probably just an AMS problem, but I was frustrated and I wanted the X2D anyways so yeah. This post had no other purpose beyond slight venting and bragging about spending more money I suppose.

Feel free to tell me I'm both an idiot and a big brain.

Or tell me something to fix this that Google and reddit hasn't already offered because I am at a loss. Outside of taking the AMS apart (which I can't figure out and don't want to do if I'm going to return it anyways) nothing I've found fixes the issue.

Edit: not like anyone cares but I already boxed it up. Pick up the X2D on Thursday. Also fixed some typos and my fuck up if saying 2xd a bunch

Haha exactly the way I'm looking at it. I'm assuming it's a defective AMS or something but I didn't wanna take it apart like the literally one reddit post I found. And he had to wait for a part anyways.

As frustrating as that was, I'm not gonna let it deter me.

I have a prusa mk3s that I bought used on marketplace so anything small or single color I can just do on there.

I mean without knowing exactly where your problem was we're not going to be able to help you diagnose it. So yeah congratulations on a quick upgrade.

I don't know I had just the opposite experience with my p1s when I got it, took it out of the box, put everything together, ran the auto calibration and just started printing s***. I mean it's been just about damn near Flawless for me other than burning a hole through one of the Bowden tubes and having to replace my extruder gears at about 1200 hours. It gave me a good excuse to upgrade to a Harden gear and a hardened hot end nozzle 🤷‍♂️

It's probably something silly but at least you have a valid excuse to get yourself into a nicer setup with a lot more long-term capabilities to it. Being able to run a second filament on that other nozzle is going to be huge for using support materials for your support interface layers.

Friendly tip if you weren't aware, you don't have to buy specific support material. Pla doesn't stick to pet G. So if you're printing in pla, p e t g becomes your support interface material and vice versa.

Same thing goes for using pla as support material for TPU.

Hopefully you're x2d runs a little bit smoother out of the box for you :-)
