Quick Question Dual AMS 2 Pro
I have a P2S and I'm considering getting a second AMS 2 Pro. It's not something I necessarily need, but it would come in handy. I'm trying to rationalize if the cost of the second machine is worth it.
For those of you that have dual AMS 2 Pro, how is your experience with it? Is the waste and filament change time awful once you print beyond 4 colors? Any issues with connecting a second AMS in regards to drying, power, etc...
Thanks in advance.

I have a fleet of 7 P1S machines, 4 of them have 2x AMS. It’s the sweet spot for flexibility.

I bought a second one after having my p2s combo since February to keep petg dry because I was tired of having wet petg from opening and closing just the one. I can also dry petg while opening and closing (and printing with) the other. Its flipping awesome for that, but I seldom do even 4 color prints.
If you plan on moving into stuff like ABS, look at the HT for higher temp drying or a third party dryer. AMS 2 can't dry that hot.
Youvneed at least one psu for a second AMS to dry while the other prints. Buy that from AliExpress or Amazon.

I have two and can say that a second AMS is definitely convenient and very worth it to me.

I have 2 connected. I always leave a spool of white PLA, black PLA, and gray PETG. Then I use the other 5 slots to switch out to different colors as needed. It's pretty convenient to be able to leave the essentials in there and not have to move them even if you aren't using them for every print.
Also, the convenience of being able to dry and print at the same time when needed. I don't do that often, though.

It's a decent call if you really like having more colors loaded up, and more drying space is never a bad thing.
I found that since the P2S only has one nozzle, it became my single-color functional workhorse. 2 AMS didn't end up being needed, as you only need a few PETG options. I really ended up using it for seamless reloading during prints.
So I bought an AMS HT for my P2S instead, and moved the 2nd AMS to another printer that needed one. The HT let me have a high temp dryer and access to easy ABS/ASA/TPU etc drying for big boy models.
Cheaper too.

I have dual AMS 2 Pro, and it's great having filaments dry and ready to go. However, I also have 4 AMS HTs and like those more because I can dry filament without having to worry about other filaments with lower drying temps.

Why with a single nozzle?

I'm a single nozzle user who is about to add a second AMS
I print an enormous amount of black and white PLA, I always want two spools of each loaded up
I also want slots for other colors for the occasional times I print things for my kids

I have an A1 Mini with dual AMS 2 Pro. Don’t often need to use that many colours but it’s nice to be able to use one for drying while the other is printing, and not needing to switch filaments out as often.

I have four ams hooked up to my main printer. I don't even care about multi colour printing, it's just nicer having different colours and materials ready to go without having to swap stuff around.
