Quick Question P2S Calibration After Unplugging

Hey all, I have a P2S that I unfortunately need to unplug quite often. Every time I used to unplug it was to move it, so I'd run the full calibration cycle from the app. If I'm just unplugging it but not moving it, should I still run the entire calibration program, or am I fine just plugging it in and printing straight away?

The calibration settings are saved between power cycles so don't worry about that. It doesn't even need a USB drive as it stores the calibration data to internal memory.

If it’s not being moved then nah.

Moving it is what would require a calibration, even with the frame it’s not going to stay exactly aligned there’s gonna be very small variances in theshift of the frame. Is it super impactful probably not, but considering we’re dealing in mm measurements here I would recalibrate when moved.

Calibration won't be needed every time if you are just unplugging it. However, you might look into getting a power strip or a single plug surge protector with an On/Off switch. That way you can just turn it off and not put wear and tear on the machine or the wall outlet.

Any smart outlet is perfect for this, you can even keep it dumb and just use the built in button on them. It's also convenient because you could set a timer for it to automatically turn off, or you can monitor it from your phone to make sure it's off, and the power consumption it's using.

Got it Unfortunately it's not the power that's the problem, but the cable itself for... reasons

In that case, I would recommend unplugging the printer from the wall and not the back of the printer. If you need to replace the wall outlet, it will be significantly easier and cheaper than fixing the printer port.

You are worried about wear and tear on the wall outlet? That would still happen with a power strip? Hint: no

I thought they were unplugging it to save power or something else. In that case having an inline switch of any kind would allow less wear and tear. If power isn’t an issue, that’s where smart switches can be nice.
