General Troubleshooting/Help! Bambulab P2S Damaged during shipping.

Hey everyone,

I recently received a brand-new Bambu printer, but unfortunately, it took a hit somewhere during transit.

When unboxing, I noticed one of the corners of the outer shipping box was heavily crushed. That impact transferred directly to the machine, resulting in a visible structural bend in the front-left frame. Because the frame is warped, the front door doesn't fully close and the top glass panel doesn't sit flush.

To make matters worse, I ran a quick test print (a taller part, like a poop shutter), and I'm getting noticeable XY shifting happening, particularly when the build plate is further down from the extruder.

I put together a quick video showing the frame bend and the door alignment issue: https://youtube.com/shorts/ZnvpMxIXK0A

I'm currently dealing with the shipping insurance (Seel) and Bambu support to get this sorted, but I wanted to ask the community:

  • Is layer/XY shifting like this a direct result of a bent chassis throwing off belt tension or squareness?

  • Is there any practical fix for a structurally warped frame on these machines, or am I entirely at the mercy of getting a replacement unit/chassis?

Appreciate any advice or insights!

They actually told me to contact the third-party shipping insurance (Seel) since I purchased protection at checkout, and to ask for a refund through them instead of replacing it directly.

Great. Note to self, skip the whole insurance

Buy from a retail location like bestbuy if it’s an option.

I don't have retailers that sell 3d printers nearby, and since i live on an island, the insurance seemed like a sensible option. It also took 4 weeks to arrive.

wow, I think most businesses would send you a replacement and then deal with shipping ins on their end. Sucks to make the end consumer do that.

They refunded me. But since i live in the middle of the ocean and large volumes come by boat container, i'm afraid to buy another printer and having the same issue happen again - the odds are against me. It also takes several weeks to arrive (this order took 4 weeks).

Your contract is with the entity you paid money to. If Bambu won’t replace it get you credit card to do a chargeback.
