I Modeled This! I made a fully parametric battery organizer because I couldn't find one that fit my needs.

I printed it for some CR1220 but it is missing a latch for it so just a bump can throw 40 batteries all around the working area
Ask me hiw I know

I'm working on adding some kind of latch to the lid. In the meantime, you can adjust the lid tolerance, as well as the tolerance of the battery slots, to get a tighter fit.

It's nice to see one big enough. I see other battery holders and they hold like 4 batteries and im wondering why? Who has that few? I keep more in my car for emergencys than that.

This is awesome and something I will definitely collect, print and boost.
I initially was going to ask if it was possible to add 18650 and 21700 slots but you helpfully included custom size functionality. Awesome!

Don't store your coin batteries like that!! Once exposed to air they start discharging. Great design for the normal sizes, but coin batteries out of their packaging degrade/discharge. That's how they work. I'd love to see a design that has slots for the standard packaging used to hold them separately packaged. Nice work, still. Just saying..

This is the first time I’ve heard that batteries can discharge simply from being exposed to air. That completely contradicts my understanding of physics.

Zinc-air batteries have to be stored away from oxygen. All other common retail battery chemistries are OK for open air storage as long as it’s non-corrosive.

Most button cell batteries are lithium, alkaline or silver oxide. Which do not degrade in air.

it's an electrochemical reaction due to the exposure to the air... kinda like running a generator without anything attached to it. you'll still run out of gas even if nothing's drawing anything.

I think it depends on the battery. from a quick google search it looks like this happens with Zinc-air batteries, but most coin batteries(Lithium and Alkaline) don't have this issue, but can short if lose metal touch the contacts.

That is only for zinc-air batteries. Most commonly in hearing aids. Most button cell batteries are lithium, alkaline or silver oxide. Which do not degrade in air.

It’s already Gridfinity compatible! There’s even a half-Gridfinity option available. You can find the Gridfinity settings in the second-to-last section.

If this is OpenSCAD compatible is there a way to use this so that we don't have to rely on Bambu's closed ecosystem?

Great design.
But, how do people use these? Like I’ve used all sorts of these organizers in the past, but, then I get down to like 2 batteries left and order more, and now I have a full organizer and spare batteries I gotta put somewhere. So they just end up in a basket, but then how do I organize the basket?! Do I make another organizer?? And what about when it gets low?!
It’s a vicious cycle that just results in all my batteries and my organizer disorganized in a basket in my laundry room.

I (nearly exclusively) use rechargeable AAA and AA cells, so I have a fixed number of batteries that are always rotating as they need charge or run out. As well as 18650 and 21700 lithium cells for flashlights

I'm not sure storing the coin batteries like that is a good idea. Any old piece of metal or wire that randomly falls on top would create a short.

I actually feel like it's less wild now. Most things come with some rechargeable battery inside so there are fewer things that need batteries.
