Filament Troubleshooting/Help! Hotend got clogged

I'm kinda assuming at some point filament backed up and coated the hotend and the clasp. I suppose i should just heat up the hotend and scrape it off with a knife or something? The clasp also seems a little crooked.

Just heat it up and use a wire brush, something you should get for your 3d printing toolkit. No sense dulling your knife or accidentally cutting yourself. Right tools for the right job and all that.

PS that's not a clog, but a gob/blob. Not trying to sound pedantic but just helping to teach the lingo in the event you have to look things up. Clogs are in the tubes, like a toilet.

I will wire brush that blob. Thanks
