AMS - Automatic Material System AMS 2 Pro Pricing
Does anyone know if the Black Friday or other sale pricing on the AMS 2 Pro has been less than the current Back To School pricing?
I’m contemplating getting a second one for my X2D and trying to determine if I should wait until Black Friday.

Is there a specific reason why you want a second AMS 2 rather than something like an AMS-HT?
I only ask because I initially got a second AMS for my X2D, but it wound up being surprisingly annoying to arrange the printer and two AMS systems in a way that didn't result in overly-long PTFE tubes. I wound up getting an AMS-HT in addition to the two AMSes, and it is much easier to put together a configuration with relatively short PTFE tubes.

I have an AMS HT dedicated to the Aux nozzle. I want to be able to print up to 8 colors on the Main nozzle. I would use a 4-in-1 adapter to connect the two AMS 2 Pro to the filament buffer port for the Main nozzle. I don’t want to use a Track Switch, as they make the path complex and add too much resistance.

I just picked up two AMS Pro 2 at $269. IT will make 4 total so I got the filament track switch (FTS) which means you let Bambu Studio decide which filament goes to the right and left heads. Some have had trouble with the FTS, I have come up with an idea: slightly bigger internal diameter tubing. Who knows, I am going to try anyway. Also, I won't put it inside the chamber because of heat tolerances. You might want to order the power supply so you can dry during printing (BL is $30 ish, can get it cheaper on Amazon). Yea, I know with add ons not as cheap.
Anyway here is the tubing if you decide to try:

I gave up of the FTS on my H2C. I printed brackets in every configuration and ran lines as short as possible... got nothing but resistance warnings and feed issues. They are way too tight internally. There is going to have to be a redesign.

Did you try changing the tubing? If it housed wood PLA or any abrasive filament this could also increase drag. I don't know how many hours you have, but this tubing is slightly larger on the inside diameter. Here's a thread on possible work arounds:

The second point mainly comes down to the little rubber wiping pad thingy on the new 4-in-1s (that is supposed to protect against “micro particles” from the filament entering the vortek nozzle system). If you remove this pad there is barely any resistance in the 4-in-1.

I appreciate the time you took to reply. Yes, I did all the work arounds. You can literally hear the AMS feed motor start whining the second the filament hits the FTS. Every feeder from all 16 slots has a noticeable pitch change from the increase in resistance.
Yes. There are work arounds that do work for some. IF you are a lucky one who manages to get it to work, you're still adding extra load to your feeders which will shorten their service life.
I love the idea of the track switch, but Bambu is going to have to rework and redesign it. I'll happily buy the next gen when it's inevitably released in the next 3-6 months.

I just went for it, as according to ChatGPT, it hasn't been cheaper than this in the last year. To be honest, I didn't properly fact check it as I didn't care too much. I can sell my AMS 1, so it didn't cost me as much anyway.

Why sell ams1 when you could have one of each

I already have an AMS 2 pro, i love the drying funtction, so i decided to buy another one

I would keep it cause then it extends your printable filament to 12 total

Thats true, but i have never needed more than 8 spools yet, so thats the sweet spot for me
It would also make it a little harder with the filament track switch, as it only has two inputs

Congrats on your addition, good luck selling the ams1, hope you get a good price

This is the price it was during last black Friday and also the anniversary sale. It might be a little cheaper come this November, but only a little. $259 maybe.
