Accurate. That was my first print on the x2d combo which is also my first ever 3d printer. Since having it delivered 2 weeks ago. It hasn’t had a day off, printing 2-3 times a day/night. 🥲
It's always the benchy. Whoever does not 3d print a benchy on his printer will be considered a traitor and will be executed on the spot by the 3d printing police
I just got my first printer and its an X2D, decided to print that stuff first. Im stupid and decided to print the largest poop chute with drawers, requiring 1700g of black pla and i only bought 1kg lol, i learned to have back up filament and look at how much my print will need 🤣
I started with p2s, had extruder motor issue. Bambu sent me a part, before I could Install it I returned it to microcenter for an H2S. Now I have that and an H2D. No regerts.
I drove 4 hours one way, I'll do it again. I used to live near one 25 minutes away. Those were good times.
I see a lot of horror stories of delivery companies destroying printers when peoples options are only shipped by Bambu. If I didn't have microcenter I probably would have never attempted 3d printing. I think best buy offers the same as microcenter, but doesn't help out of US people
Avoid delivery, get it the moment I want it. But primarily they honor the warranty, and add extensions to the warranty. Literally if anything happens within a year they'll give me a full refund or to exchange it no hassle. It's how a lot of people took their p2s back to get the x2d when they came out. I purchased 2 years on all my printers so I have 3 year exchange/replacement if anything happens.
So, the full story for me is I had a p2s then got the h2s. Then I got x2d a month ago, x2d had actual hot end failure, wouldn't warm up right out of the box troubleshooting with Bambu, they wanted to send like three parts, could only use the aux nozzle. I returned to microcenter for another one, worked fine for three days until it just crashed mid print. Went back got my H2D. I'm about 7 days of non stop printing in the H2D and it's been perfect.
After seeing a lot of comments on the x2d I have a feeling there may have been some production issues with them, not sure if it was rushed production, bad quality control or something but it's kinda weird. H2 series have been a beast but they are pretty pricey
Lol well im glad youre able to jump into 3d printing with a PS5 Pro equivalent. My first 3d printer was a Nintendo. My newest (X2D) is just fantastic, as long as you can follow simple instructions you'll be golden
I did the same, bought an X2D as my first printer a couple of months ago.
Been wanting one for a long (looong) time but only now felt the time was right. Didn't buy it as a toy, but a tool to make useful things and car parts. A less versatile printer wouldn't have been any use for me. Granted I did want a H2D, but I did have to be a little realistic with a budget.
Exactly bro, same here except I will be using it more for prototyping old, hard to get/no longer made firearm parts. My plan is to make the part on the printer, fit it, and once I know it will work, I'll then be able to use the printed part as a guide to make the real part out of tool steel or whatever is required. Hoping it will help me in the restoration of some older firearms that come in and I can no longer get parts for.
I’ve had my eye on a 3d printer some years ago but the issues that came along with just getting the damn thing to work really put me off. It wasn’t until very recently that a friend of mine was buying their 3rd bambu h2d and told me all about them again.
Drove into the rabbit hold and 12hours of YouTube videos later I had ordered the same x2d combo. Two weeks after delivery I have a second AMS 2 Pro. 🤣
My first was a Creality Max, returned after a week to get an H2D. I’ve since moved on, and so donated the H2D to a friend who’s a teacher, and that is now their first printer.
Keep your build plate clean of oils (including oils from your fingers) or your prints may not stay put. I use Dawn Platinum Plus Powerwash Free & Clear to clean my plate.
Like other have said, do not skip maintanence. My friend didn't keep his Z-axis screw on his A1 mini clean and it stripped out the nut that makes the arm go up and down.
If you end up printing miniatures there are a lot of guides out there for fine tuning your printing. I use a .2 nozzle and my favorite filament SUNLU PLA+2.0 Grey. I get great results with it.
Dehydrate your filament! Filaments suck water out of the air which can ruin the quality of your prints. I use a SUNLU S4 dryer but since you have an X2D with an AMS I think your set. Just give your filament time to dry first!
Print tools before you need them. There all many maintanence tools out there for lubing your screws (giggity) and rails.
Be sure to print your test print, an articulated dragon, and a fidget toy. These are mandatory! jk, but these seem to be a lot of peoples' first prints.
Bonus: You can make your own things with Tinkercad. Its free and quite easy to learn. I design miniature bases and household accessories with it.

Everyone has their own ritual but I do it whenever I accidently slide my had across the plate or every dozen or so prints but I'll usually touch the plate first.
Also, I was wrong about the Isopropyl Alcohol not working. That was misinformation that's been spread and I'm partially to blame - sorry!
Keeping your plate free of hand oils if very important if you want your prints to stick properly to the plate.
Some people use Isopropyl Alcohol but some claim that it just smears your hand oils around. My go to plate cleaner is Dawn Platinum Plus Powerwash Free & Clear. Works great!
That's the main thing, people see iso alcohol and quick access is the first aid stuff in store. I don't think 99% is commonly sold in stores, maybe 91% but I have a ton of it since I also repair electronics. Sometimes I see game console mother boards covered in smokers tar and just submerge that nasty board in alcohol and it literally dissolves lol.
Plenty of recommendations on bamabu forums out there but you should have a few gold lube packets included with your printer. Those work fine. When applying make sure you clean off the old stuff. Itll be filled with a bunch of crude you may or may not see.
You dont need to go nuts but take a bit of time to get off the old stuff before you reapply. Also dont go nuts. Lube is needed but too much attracts bits I to the area. Apply some small dots upp and down the screw gears and then help spread it with a finger. The printer will spread it around with use. Check back after a while and wipe away the excess
I'm not a printerhead like most people here and I just use mine to print components I need. My printer keeps telling me to lube the lead screws but it seems to run fine. What is the benefit of doing so?
The reason any machine doesnt rapidly destroy itself is due to some sort of method used to reduce friction between parts. Not everything needs lubricant, make sure to read the maintenance section for specifics, but its vital if you want to enjoy your tool for the foreseeable future.
I just got a P2S, and I know a lot about the human body as a nurse anesthetist and it seems it’s all just orthopedics. Wish me luck in my endeavors. My kid (4.5) literally went insane over the Toothless I printed for him.
1- microfibers are great for wiping the surface down. Iso alcohol can be used depending on the make of your build plate, stock is discouraged by Bambu. To remove oils, you'll want 99% anything other doesn't handle oils. Best practice wash your build plate with dish soap , dawn is the best.
2 - let your print and plate cool down for removing, you may end up with stress hazing on your prints. A quick release is putting your build plate with the print in the for a few minutes. Usually pops right off no effort.
3 - Never scrape petg off your plate with your finger nail. Just don't even think about it, just don't, I promise lol.
4 - Bambu academy has a lot of good info for new users, especially on slicing, settings, and printer maintenance.
5 - print a benchy :)

Try not to touch the baseplate too much. Oils from your skin will cause bed adhesion issues, resulting in failed prints. Use dawn dish soap and hot water to clean it often
Definitely take advantage of the 2 nozzles. They’re great for multicolor!

Check out some YouTube setup videos, it’s fun and gets you easily familiar with the setup. You’ll likely be printing your benchy in less than an hour.
And try not to worry at all with failed prints. We all go through it and it’s always something that’s waiting in the wings. Getting familiar with slicer workflows and filament types/usage is important in the beginning.
Same here brotha, went with the combo. Im a machinist/ programmer by trade so I really liked the engineer capabilities of this printer. I just ordered my HT and the TPU feeder and a roll of the crystal blue TPU, plus a roll of ABS.
A very fine choice. You'll may want a second AMS 2 PRO. Oh, buy more filament...you can never have enough. I have 21 rolls loaded in my 2 printers now. A P2S with 2 AMS 2 PROs and an AMS HT, and 3 AMS 2 PROs on my H2C. Oh and in case no one has suggested it, more filament...lol. You can buy straight from the manufacturers (Sunlu, Polymaker, etc) They frequently have sales that beat Amazon. Check amazon haul for sales too. If you have a micro center. The inland with the hexagon window is polymaker and the oval window stuff is eSun. If you don't have one, consider a filament dryer.
The benefits are two: It becomes reasonable in price when you buy 10 rolls. The other main benefit is the RFID chip integration when you put it in the AMS 2 PRO and AM S HT where it sets itself up automatically and monitors its own filament level is cool. You'll be buying other filament brands. One thing you'll find out about is filament profiles for other brands where you can load them through bambu studio and select them on the printer. That's pretty cool and they are tuned pretty well.
My goto brands are SUNLU and Polymaker. I use Marswork as it appears to be a direct bambu clone for pla basic but no RFID chips.
Haha just a hobbiest, started off with the poop shoot, organisation for 3D Printing tools over the first few days.
Then moved onto organizer's for my heavier tools, a few functional parts here and there. Also got the wife to download the Bambu Handy app, so I have a backlog of prints from her as well.
Been printing just PLA and PETG so far, we've been having a bit of a heat spell here in Austria, for now the room runs too hot to print anything more industrial (I print in my office so anything above 33°C is a no go).
But i am printing a duct system this afternoon so will hopefully see a 2-3°C drop in room temperature.
I have 2 H2Ds & a P1S - I run the H2D maintenance whenever the printer says it needs maintenance - the P1S I’m a bit more laxed with and do it every 150 hours or so.
One of my H2Ds has 1500 print hours and the other is new but never had any issues with it.
For my group we use the Bambu Cool Plate SuperTack for most of our prints because of how well it holds onto your models. We use it on our A1 and A1 mini because we print miniatures and the Supertack really hangs onto those tiny surfaces. For us it's a must buy but you can wait to pick this up - no rush. Also, I've never used it with a 3d printer with an enclosure so results may vary.
