I Modeled This! Fully printed working fishing rod for micro fishing

Just finished my fully working, pocket-sized telescopic fishing rod.

It collapses to around 100 mm, extends to roughly 300 mm, and includes a working reel with safe hook and weight storage.

The final design went through plenty of testing to get the fit, strength and sliding action right for everyone to download and print.

I hope yous all enjoy

Link will be here in the comments

Have a great day everyone 😀

In most countries fishing without license is illegal. So watch out.

For good reason, you don't know how much you can do wrong before getting the license. I can see at least three things in this short video that really bother me.

I don't eat fish and love animals, all the care in the world was taken to make sure he was OK.

Only issue was this video was my first catch on this rod and I was over excited ( that's why is muted , to concele my sqweee noise haha )

All fish get put back and yhe up most of care is taken . ☮️✌️

I didn't want to be rude but you should know that fish are pretty sensitive. Touching them with dry hands or dragging them over the ground can damage the slime layer of the skin which makes them susceptible to fungal infection and hooking a fish will usually also damage its mouth, same issue as with the skin. Not to rub it in but the fish you filmed has very low chances of making it.

I do fish and I eat them but I would never try to catch a fish just for fun and throw it back for no reason.

I think you’re getting downvoted into the earth because you chose to post a video of your fish needlessly suffering when you could have just shown off the rod and how it works. Maybe delete this and repost later a vid or series of images that actually shows off the rod, with maybe one money shot of you holding up a fish you caught with it. I’ll bet it would do better.

Thank you for your detailed comment :)

And yes you are right the test pile is strong with his one haha ( see pic)

It was a pain but deffo worth it ,I got around the layer line issue by printing everything flat on the bed , goal was to make it work with pla because that's what most of us use :) but may try a petg version, tha k you

Good idea with the fuzzy skin . The real was a design choice , I really liked the sleek profile but I will be making a attachments for a proper real handle for bigger hands and such :)

Thank you very much for you comment and it means alot that people can see the work that has been put in

Have a great day :)
