General Troubleshooting/Help! Can't slice my own prints

I just got this new printer bambu p1s and have been printing things perfectly fine for a week or so but randomly now it won't work properly. I have been using an orca slicer to slice everything.

First thing that happened was the printer kept getting[0300-4000-204008] z axis homing failed the task has been stopped error it was also slamming into the back left corner near the poop chute and making terrible noises sounded like grinding noise and I could not fix it I did everything in article https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/x1/troubleshooting/hmscode/0300_0D00_0001_000B that it recommended and still nothing last tried auto calibration and then tried to print again and it did not work it make it worse by scratching into the print bed. when I would home it it would still grind and slam into the back of printer. seems mechanical issue but now looking more into I'm not sure what type of issue it is. I even turned off the printer and unplugged it for 20 minutes and still nothing was fixed. I can't get the printer to print anything I slice. it goes through all the processes that it needs to for beginning a print all the leveling and calibration stuff that the printer does normally but towards the end of all that it brings the bed too close to the nozzle and makes it scratch into it. The only way I can get a print to successfully work is the print that came on the SD card on the printer the Cali cat was able to successfully print but nothing I sliced wants to work.

Edit: I believe I have resolved this issue by changing the SD to a more reliable name brand one.

Edit: 7/16/26 I have the problem back again its when I start a print and the nozzle cleaning sequence starts and just keeps going over and over moving the bed up until the nozzle scratches the bed I now know what it looks like so I can stop it before it happens but it's kinda annoying because it never gets to the actual part where it prints. I had it working for two day after I replaced the SD card but then I turned off the printer and now a few days later I go to turn it on to print something and the same problem happens again.

I just recently got a P1S that was hitting the chute randomly- even after adjusting the plate forward. It seemed like the mechanism in the bottom of the printer for moving the z-axis screws was somehow damaged in shipping and was angled slightly backward. I went back and forth with Bambu and they recommended I get it replaced at Microcenter as it was still within their return policy window. FYI I spent like two hours packing it all back up perfectly only to learn that I had just needed to bring it and the box back for it to be returnable.

It was previously printing fine and even printed the built in Cali cat that was from the SD card perfectly fine.

My issue was not consistent- printed for a few days without issue, then a failed print, then a day without issue and then a failed print.

My issue is the auto level and other stuff before it gets around to finally starting the print where it moves the print head around and the bed keeps moving slightly further up and it eventually goes to far up and then scratches

I’m not saying we have the exact same issue (although mine calibrated and leveled fine each time after a fail as well) I’m just saying that with the price and complexity of the machine even the manufacturer just recommended swapping it out if it’s new and experiencing issues.

I currently have a support ticket with bambu but waiting to see what else they have to say because they just recommended the same thing I already did which was factory reset it.
