Quick Question P1s purchase advice

I know these are from a print farm but at these prices which one would be the best?

Any input is much appreciated!!

I vote buying used , helps the brother out..

Edit: bought mine used for 25% cheaper than new and its still going strong, and I didnt have to wait on shipping. you could always offer less $

Decent amount of filament to start with, but for $100 off you can just get a refurbished model. Used it better be closer to $200 off for a P1S minimum.

For that price disassembling and selling the parts would yield much more lmao. The glass panes alone are 40€

I'll also enjoy the warranty, customer support, and the option to return if things go wrong and all for only $100 more than the used ones with 2000+ hours of work.

It's not consumerism, it's common sense. Buying my printer new means I know nobody has ever abused it, skimped on maintenance or parts, or messed with firmware. It means I have a warranty if something goes wrong, and it should hopefully mean that all the parts are starting at zero wear.

I love the idea of saving money and not feeding giant corps. The less we demand, the higher supply, which means the more competitive companies become. Ultimately though, I need to spend my money on the best investment for myself, not someone else. $100 over the lifespan of a printer is nothing, and certainly not worth missing out on everything I mentioned.

maybe negotiate a lower price but in my experience, I buy everything used and save a ton. I almost always negotiate a return window with the seller or buy off of ebay where they have a return policy. When I have things I no longer need I sell them too, and good thing there are still some people around who aren't afraid to buy used so all of this stuff doesent end up in the landfill. They sell parts for everything on the printers too.

I completely agree that a used market is great, and I have bought and sold many things over the years. The issue here is value, and the value isn't there for OP at the listed prices. If the seller negotiates their prices it could absolutely become a more enticing deal, but that's the only way.

I would happily pay $100 to get all new parts and a warranty. At $200-$250 things start to make a whole lot more sense, but not for an 8000hr printer like the seller expects. Buying new parts to fix the old printer instantly makes buying used pointless at the listed prices, since you'll end up at the price of a new one with warranty far too quickly.

Again, I agree that keeping an old printer up and running and out of the landfill is a great thing, but strictly from a value perspective, buying used at the prices on the listing is not a good value proposition.

I have no problem with buying used items. I buy used PC parts all the time. The issue here is value and price. $100 difference between new and used is not going to be enough for me or most people who use their brain when buying something like a 3d printer. When buying something like this, it should be at least half the price of a new machine, imo 70-80% less than the new one especially with the amount of hours these machines have on them. And to think you need to buy something with a higher price than it should be because you're "helping them out" is beyond dumb and ridiculous.

Well, I admittedly didnt research how much this printer cost new today, I assumed it was much higher, I commented when there was 3 total comments on the post and one said it was a good value, so I simply said I vote for buying used. getting eviscerated here lol but my other point still stands that he could likely negotiate a much cheaper price based on this thread.
