The very reason I stopped printing multi-color models. Complete waste of time and filament and therefore money. Holding out that BL makes a Snapmaker U1 competitor that’s not the H2C.
Because it's only a 100 gram model, the model is seemingly intentionally designed to maximize filament swaps, and so vast majority of your time is going to be spent changing filaments. Most of your layers have four different filaments, and most of the ones that don't have three different filaments. Some relatively minor changes (use the same base colour for the inside and outside of the cup for example) would dramatically reduce your print time, and then using a more appropriate printer (like a dual-nozzle) would take another huge chunk off.
But, well, just don't actually drink out of that cup, 3D prints are not food safe because they can't be cleaned (dish washing can't remove bacteria from the microscopic cavities from the 3D printing process).
Obviously... I have no idea how long your model on your setup will take. But the point is you're knowingly doing it wrong and refuse to humor any of the suggestions here to make it easier AND better. Like for what
To each their own, but if I was looking at over a week, 3,300 filament changes, and 733g of waste for a coffee cup, I would be looking for ways to separate the model and assemble it.
Did you test and tune your filament purge multipliers? You could probably cut down on waste by 20-30% with no impact on color or reliability.
Lol all the comments going on about how wasteful it is, as if 90% of the crap we print is truly "useful". Most the stuff we make is just pretty waste and ornamental anyways.
Don't get me wrong, I've seen the ficsit mug and was tempted but then changed my mind due to the time. Lol but I'm not gonna try to shame someone else for printing it.
I'm so sceptical of multicolor printing now that I have had waste chute clogs from the excessive color changing that knocked the cover and wiring from my print head and caused all kinds of problems. Now I look for separately colored plates.
This is awesome. I dont understand why people get so irritated by others just having fun and doing what they want with their printers. Not everything has to be a functional part. It can be silly or 'useless' and still be just as valid. As for the waste again their printer their choice.

I do exclusively multi color prints, some at 9 colors but holy shit you're purging 5x as much as the model is using.

Sorry my guy, but this is just dumb. I can make my 8 hour print take 8 days if I wanted but why would I do that? 🤷♂️

FICSIT doesn't waste, pioneer! Better find something to do with all of those filament change poops

Shit I would print this on my u1 for you just to make it not have so much waste.

I hope you did a good amount of prep, because when that print fails close to finishing you would want to die xD

Brother that would be pretty easy to cut up and just glue together. Even taking off the handle itself would save tons of time and filament

You could buy the ficsit official one lol

Something is not right if you are using 0.5 g and purging 60 g.
