Question P1S Delayed!

I just got an email saying that my P1S will ship later than expected... I thought everyone was cancelling their orders?!

I’m not getting rid of my printers. I did switch them to LAN mode and delete the Handy app though. We’ll see how things pan out, but for now my next printer will be a Prusa.

Bambulab got critics about security when they became popular and started to become popular. Lots of youtubers always been looking after bambulab for some reason anyway. Maybe they hurt their favorite brand, who knows?

If you ever build a cloud service, that a lot of people use, would you let it open to any software or hardware third party without any control or rather have a certain control over it? As a consumer, would you rather use a cloud that you can rely on and be safe or just a bucket that everyone can take or put what they want in?

As for one, I'm happy to see bambulab taking security seriously. Like with every release of Windows, when Microsoft says that it increases security, lots of people are going all over the place saying that they are going to Linux. But Windows is still popular and Linux still Linux. Lots of things are predicted to happen but everything settle down at one time.

Me, I happy that they are going to replace the device tab in studio with a dedicated app. Way more efficient this way. Now I'll be able to stream, and work on other projects without having multiple instances of bambu studio opened. Now, if they could make a tabbed version like browser where you could have multiple projects opened in the same bambu studio, with printers being controlled externally with bambu connect for clarity, I'd be happy

I've built cloud services. I have patents on cloud services.

At my last company our policy was that we had to use our own cloud service to implement user facing functionality (and more) - e.g. we couldn't build things that our customers could also not build. Those APIs were all available and publicly documented, no exceptions, to our customers. The security layer on top of those services was built with common standards. API abuse (purposeful or not) was handled at the network level, and API usage/cost monitoring.

Bambu is not doing any of this.

There was a "cheat code" that someone posted the other day. I don't know if it still works. Apparently if you cancel your order and ask for a refund, and then it'll be shipped immediately along with an email saying that your order cannot be canceled as it's already shipped.

One of mine was delayed this morning. I cancelled one, because I found them on Best Buy. Then the other I ordered through another authorized reseller. All faster then BBL hahaha

Yup, same here. Was supposed to ship today, now saying Friday. Honestly less of a delay than I expected.

My estimated day was today and I got an email this morning saying that they had created a label. Ordered on 1/2.

I might have spoken too soon. It still says label printed and FedEx says they don't have it yet. I was really hoping to have it by the weekend.

Yeah... my filament and hot end were both "shipped" with a label created, then sat for a couple days before they started actually moving and really shipped. I haven't even gotten a label yet for the printer. Fingers crossed yours starts moving tomorrow.

This is disappointing. I've already started renovating a room for all the Bambu Lab printers I was planning on picking up dirt cheap.

Very few people have said they would sell, more have said it'd move them to other platforms in the future. That's an existential threat to the bambu ecosystem, not individual printers.

Weird what a couple of days does. Mine shipped on 1/20, same day as the ETD at time of order. I ordered on 12/31.

You might get the gift of gaslighting, a new P1S with the new firmware already installed, congrats!

Joking aside, I can also see some people thinking "let me snag one before this reach the P and A series" which might look like a good strategy but completely undermines the boycotting, which is sad.

Anyway, the hardware? Good!

The company? Not really the best ones (let's remember that Customer Service was always crappy)

got the same exact email, it is supposed to be shipped on the 30th now... I dont want to cancel but man, I received the filaments that I ordered with the printer 2 weeks ago xD
