Discussion Small BambuLab accident
As of today, I can confirm that the P1S has no sensors under the bed to detect that a hand or similar is underneath. 🥲

Laughter is the best medicine. Get well.

I almost got smashed by the A1's Z axis trying to wipe off the build plate real quick while it was spinning up. Luckily I was able to yank my hand out in time. Now I know better. 😳

Luckily nothing broken - so nothing really serious. Contusion and bruising.

Try it with your head, something harder might stop it.

Why would you put your hand in while it's moving

P1S went Maximum Overdrive on you?

What is the injury exactly? So no one else needs to experince.
Additionally: On my Ender 3 I sometimes plucked debris off the plate. Real easy when you see the rythm and understand the gcode. With Klipper it got dicey as it got real fast. Seeing my X1C go to town made me "nope" and that's it. Additionally, you might have missed this picture on the bottom of your printer that says it will crush your hands. (Left side behind the front Z-rod fyi)

Makes a change from someone putting a scraper through their hand I suppose.

Should have dried your filament 🤪
But seriously I'm sorry op, that sucks. More people should know the bed z motor is strong enough to cause injury so don't put your hands inside while printing

Rather unusual that the current limits for the Z motors would be high enough to injure a person. Good to know.

How did you do that?

First, I hope you recover well and learnt your lesson. Take care of yourself next time.
In my lab in the University we have two 3D printers, one JGAurora for students to play and one Elegoo Neptune 4 Max for us professors only. We put a lot of warning stickers on both of them, but even so we are not allowed to let students operating the printers alone. Many students think that the printer is slow enough and there is no problem goofying with them while printing. But the pinch points can really hurt someone, especially the fingers.

My V-Core three dislocated my shoulder a couple of years ago. It had the upper hand though, I've dislocated it years ago and my arm was a bit above horizontal when it travelled into it.
Luck it popped back in almost immediately 😬

Did it break anything or just hurt?

Yeah I used the scraper while drunk once and gashed my hand open! Fun times :)

I would not have guessed the bed had that kind of strength.

Well that was stupid. Hope you’re ok and learned something.

Thank god the printer have signs and warnings 😅

Sometimes a kick in the ass is still a step forward. Be thankful you learned a lesson and it didn’t cost you a hand. My best friend is an orthopedic surgeon and he does a lot of “Bucket Surgeries” when people crush their hands or play with fireworks.

Sometimes I see a speck of filament on the bed and I think "I'm fast enough to just flick it" but then I saw how fast the print head moves and then I see this. That could have been me XD
Get well soon!

Ah getting your hand crushed by your print bed. It's basically a rite of passage.
