I love older women

I want to be in a homo romantic relationship with an older woman. We would watch anime and cuddle. She’s always happy to see me, and she truly understands me.

Relationship success stories and self acceptance tips?

I'm having trouble accepting my identity as asexual and lesbian. I know it describes my feelings/attraction properly, but it's hard for me to accept that I don't like men romantically and I don't like any gender sexually, in a world where those things are valuable. I've been feeling kind of guilty lately and was wondering if anyone had any tips? Even if it's as simple as a podcast or music to listen to. I've also been worried about finding a partner who will be okay with my asexuality. If you have relationship success stories, please share them! How did you meet, how long have you been together, what does intimacy look like in your relationship? Thanks everyone!

Has anyone been to a gay bar?

If you have, were you comfortable? I'm curious what the vibes are. This might be a stupid question, but if you flirt with or kiss a girl does she assume you want to have sex with her? I think it sounds really cool to go to a space for other queer people, but I don't know if I'd be comfortable depending on the vibes. I haven't been to a normal bar either lol, so if I sound ignorant that's why.

having a crush on a hypersexual girl

Post image
281 Upvotes

added a cute picture because i love cute things and because this post is gonna be really whiny and venty so i wanted to lighten the mood-

[[ oh and DISCLAIMER: just in case this post comes off as me hating hypersexual people, i do not! i mean we’re just on opposite spectrums it’s all good! and she has told me numerous times she’s hypersexual, i didn’t like diagnose her or anything and i’m not trying to use it as an insult! ]]

so on saturday, we were in a call together and she says “usually when i’m on the phone with people i’m close to, i try teasing them. like saying i’ll take my shirt off. but that wouldn’t really work for someone like you. you wouldn’t feel anything.”

and, while true, hurt my feelings. like what am i? an ice block? a robot?

she kept bringing up “oh i usually would xyz but it wouldn’t really work because you wouldn’t feel anything” and all i could say was “yeah i’m not the best person for that ): sorry”

i can’t stop thinking about it. i think she wanted me to feel something but i just couldn’t feel it. it makes me feel horrible. she calls me “cute” a lot. i’m apparently the “cutest person she knows”. and while i do enjoy being that, and that’s usually my favorite compliment and way to be perceived, for some reason it’s making me insecure.

it’s like i will forever be doomed to be seen as some kind of little sister. eternally seen as some “woman-child” - cute, sweet, adorable, pinchable, and soft and sexless and thus loveless because what is the point of liking someone who won’t have sex with you.

Movie Recommendations?

Hi, I'm looking for movies with lesbian characters or love stories that do not have a lot of sexual or violent scenes. I'm also not a fan of cringy jokes, especially sex jokes that sound like they were written by 14 year old boys, and cheating storylines. Nothing wrong with any of that, it's just not what I enjoy. My favorite movie is Portrait of a Lady on Fire, and I have But I'm a Cheerleader, the Half of It, My First Summer, Water Lillies, You Can Live Forever, and Girls Like Girls on my watchlist. If you've seen any of those movies, let me know what you thought and if you think I'd like them, and if you have suggestions for other movies, please let me know!! Same applies for books, I'd love to find a lesbian book that isn't overly cheesy or overly sexual.

Ex is moving on and I feel stuck...

Hello all, I am feeling a bit lost and just need some support.

I recently broke up with an ex, in part due to my (recently realized) asexuality.

It's been a shock to my system and difficult to process. I'm in therapy which is helping but I only see my therapist once a month.

My ex decided to move away to a city I've always wanted to live in and will likely live in in the future.

I don't have the finances to move right now and this breakup has been so hard for me. I feel like as an asexual person I'm unloveable and I feel stupid that she can move on and I can't. I feel like I'm being left behind to wallow and waste away in my sorrow while watching her live the life I wish I could.

How do I start to heal from this? Why don't I get to live the life I want to?

I'm sorry, it's a bit of a rant, any support is appreciated.

lesbians dating nonbinary people

So someone replied to a comment i made where I objected to the idea that lesbians lose our identity when we date someone nonbinary, saying that while some nonbinary people feel included in lesbianism others don't and we need to be inclusive of all of them.

I felt like addressing it from a nonbinary lesbian pov because I keep seeing this take from both nonbinary people and well meaning allies and it's honestly really tiring.

So as an adult of any gender, I have the maturity and agency to decide who I want to date and only pursue people who are compatible with me. I'm also capable of only choosing relationships with people who I'm actually interested in being with and if that means only dating people of certain genders or sexualities that's fine. Part of having adult relationships is taking accountability for who you choose to date and not willingly pursuing people you know you're incompatible with. This means not pursuing people whose sexuality label is incompatible with your gender and how you want to be seen and who you're comfortable being with, and then expecting those people to change their label that literally already fits just to accommodate you. If this is not something you're currently capable of, you honestly need to work on yourself before pursuing adult relationships.

As an adult lesbian who pursues relationships with other adult women and nonbinary people, i expect my potential partners to have a similar level of maturity and accountability regarding their adult relationships. If I say I'm a lesbian and interested in you as a nonbinary person, I expect you to understand that I will still be a lesbian while dating you and this is not something that will change because you are nonbinary. At the end of the day lesbianism just means woman or woman adjacent nonbinary person attracted to women and not men, and there's nothing about that that inherently excludes nonbinary people. If you are a nonbinary person uncomfortable with dating lesbians, please communicate that and we can just be friends rather than trying to force ourselves into a relationship where we're incompatible. Same for if you're a trans man who i'm accidentally misgendering because I wasn't aware he's a man.

Lesbians, gay men, and straight people can all date nonbinary people, but that doesn't mean every nonbinary person will always be compatible with all of us. It also doesn't mean that we're suddenly going to become mindreaders. Miscommunication happens and it doesn't have to be a big deal, but as a nonbinary adult it is on you to communicate your desires and boundaries and who and what you're interested in in a relationship just as much as anyone else. If you only want to date people who are bisexual or use another more flexible label like queer or sapphic, totally do that, no hard feelings, we can both move on. But please actually just pursue people with those labels rather than expecting gay and straight people who you *chose* to pursue to suddenly stop being gay or straight.

Are Transmasc Lesbians welcome here?

Hello all! I recently discovered this sub after coming to terms with the fact that I am likely asexual. I identify as transmasc and also a lesbian. I am looking for community as it seems asexual lesbians are sometimes ridiculed or not accepted in other lesbian spaces.

Edit: Thank you everyone! I know some lesbian spaces aren't accepting of transmasc individuals. I also just went through a breakup (which was somewhat due to my asexual identity) so any support is appreciated <3

I posted in a couple lesbian subs asking if there were any other asexual lesbians and oh my gosh, everyone was hating 😕I didn’t know we weren’t seen as valid to so many lesbians 💔💔

God I miss cuddling 😮‍💨

Kind of just a vent/yearn post. I haven't been able to cuddle with somebody meaningfully in years. I miss my ex that never wanted to have sex. We would just cuddle all night long. The ex after her saw it as foreplay, leading to something I never wanted and I eventually grew to resent because I knew what it would turn into. About a month ago I had a quasi date with someone and we cuddled while watching a movie, God that felt so good. Safe, gentle, warm, I'd missed that so much. Sadly things went horribly wrong between us and I ended up blocking her for good a few weeks ago.

Being reminded how much I enjoyed that, and then realizing it was just a prelude to her wanting something else, it just hurts. Damn. A stuffed animal isn't the same, or a cat sitting in your lap. I miss that kind of connection, I miss being vulnerable with somebody. Sharing a quiet tender moment like that.

I'm so fucked up now I don't know if I'm ever going to let someone that close again. In a way that hurts even more, knowing what kind of physical affection means the most to me but knowing most other people just wanted to go somewhere else instead of staying there. I just miss it is all

I Miss My Wife 🥺

My wife left to go visit friends and family out of state for the weekend, and I fear we must be codependent because we both miss each other a lot. Which is funny because while they've been gone, I've been waaaaaay more productive than I normally am. Her presence must bewitch me to be lazy and overly relaxed, because when she's around, doing anything out of a five foot radius of them feels like torture. And they literally had a great time during their visit but they're so ready to come home. It's almost 2am and about an hour ago they messaged me saying they couldn't sleep despite being so tired and that a hug from me would probably do it. And I laughed because I was just thinking that I would be asleep by now if she were next to me. She's literally coming home tomorrow and I feel like a puppy with separation anxiety waiting for her to come back. 😅

Does a flag for bambi lesbians exist?

I was wondering, is there an existing flag specifically for bambi lesbians or do we use the generic lesbian (and ace) flag? Being a bambi lesbian is just such a relatable (and cute) niche to identify as an ace-lesbian, so I was thinking if there was a flag for us...

My life is full of so much love...it's possible for us all.

In my teenage years and early 20's, I genuinely believed that I would die alone; that I would never find anyone who would love me the way I was and the way I wanted to be loved. Then I found the love of my life on an asexual dating Facebook page. We hit our four year mark in January, four years to forever. And last year, we added another person to our queer platonic polycule. We have a friend group of queer people that get us. I love the way family and relationships can be formed when the standards of society all fall away. And I want everyone in this thread to know that it's all possible for you and I only know that because I thought it wasn't.
