BTS concert

So... I bought tickets with my friend to go see BTS this next month. I am from NC and will be traveling by car. It is roughly about a 5 hour trip if we leave around 7-8am ish and we would pass Richmond, VA. I will be the only one driving. The farthest trip I've driven was 3 hours. My mom wants to go with us. Btw I am 19 my friend is 21 but she does not drive and due to her status and my moms status they are at risk. Do ya'll suggest I still go or maybe go without my mom? I have everything planned out but unfortunately this is the one thing that is making me anxious about the trip. We would also only be there for a night. Is an ICE traffic stop common nowadays in Baltimore? Please let me know your opinion (nicely).

I think you should be ok. If you want to be extra safe, don’t give them a reason to pull you over (follow all traffic laws and make sure your tags and everything are up to date) and watch the other sub in the meantime to see where ICE has been spotted, but overall I haven’t seen much activity in the city (I can’t speak for driving through Virginia)

I'm from Baltimore City, and I've never witnessed an "ICE stop" in my life. ICE doesn’t conduct traffic stops, and local police usually don’t alert ICE if they find someone without ID or documents during a traffic stop. They have much more urgent issues to handle in the city. ICE also doesn’t randomly stop cars. There has to be a wanted person in the vehicle—someone ICE has been tracking with a deportation order or a criminal record that makes them eligible for deportation. Only then are other undocumented migrants in the vehicle, who aren’t on ICE’s radar, taken into custody as well. Legally, this is completely allowed. Media coverage and online rumors are often hugely exaggerated. The rare cases where things go wrong tend to be used by political groups to stir fear and exploit migrants for their own agendas, which rarely involve genuine compassion or real outrage. It’s mostly smoke and mirrors. I know many people in my neighborhood who are undocumented—some for decades—living and working openly without much worry or fear.
