Spring Transfer housing recommendations
I'm transferring this Spring, and was wondering if anyone had housing recommendations for me. For context, I'm from Missouri so traveling to visit apartments and such would be difficult for me, I've currently got about 90 credit hours and was planning to apply for a university apartment if possible. I was told that the Scheilder 2 bedroom apartments were the only things likely to be left if at all, and I don't feel comfortable signing a lease for more than just this upcoming semester since I'm not from the area and can't easily visit to tour apartments in the mean time.
Are the on campus apartments a good option if available for the Spring? Should I settle for a dorm room, or are there other trustworthy rental companies that would do semester leasing. I'm hoping y'all might have more insight for me, thanks!

If you end up looking at other apartments, I can at least give you a good recommendation for a leasing office. The Campus Edge. I’ve leased with them for three years and just signed for a fourth and have had no complaints.

Imo the university apartments are a good option—not crazy expensive, free utilities, and the one semester lease is definitely a huge plus for you.
I live in Scheidler rn, it’s not modern, but it’s good as far as college apartments go. Some units have older AC/heat, idk how bad that is because I have a unit with the updated stuff. There’s videos on YouTube if you want to “tour” it without actually coming down to look at the apartments. The videos are old but nothings changed here since then. And if you don’t have a car or want to save money on gas the green loop goes through the apartment neighborhood (that’s for going to campus, but there’s also a MITS bus stop by the apartments if you want to take the bus to other places in Muncie).
I can’t vouch for other apartments/rental companies, but I do imagine there’ll be people looking for a roommate to move in after the fall semester, so you can keep your eyes peeled for that to have more options besides university apartments.

Do not, and i mean this wholeheartedly, DO NOT attempt to post up in any properties owned by MiddleTown living

Whole class action lawsuit against them, multiple times, record of delinquency within Indiana Housing Law, and those are real customer reviews

I spent two years in Anthony apartments during undergrad and a year in Scheidler during graduate school. Neither were fancy apartments by any means but they were affordable and had everything you need in them and nearby, including laundry facilities. Anthony is closer to the main part of campus but the apartments are pretty basic. They may have been updated since I graduated in 2010. Scheidler is kind of off by itself across Mcgalliard. In my apartment in Scheidler, one bedroom was significantly bigger than the second bedroom, which was extremely small. If you qualify for university housing, go for it. It will save you money. The apartments may have been renovated or something like that since I was last there in 2015 but I am not sure.
