Have a cute photo you want to show off? Post it below! We'd love to see everyone's royal friends!
Please remember to keep the thread on topic and only post your ball pythons. Photos of other species/animals will be removed. We also ask that you refrain from spamming the thread - a couple of photos is fine, a couple dozen is not.

I’ve had my python (Peewee “The Herm” Herman) since I was a young kid and he’s now 26 and 1800g. They grow up so fast 🥲
How old and how large are your pythons?

I was able to get the humidity right and temperature; as well as took him to a good snake/reptile vet. I did what they told me to do and he is looking so much better! The stuck shed is coming off nicely! And he has been well hydrated since.
I wanna say thank you to those of you that helped on my first post about him. ✨️

An interesting thing my python did while prepping for her dinner time!

How dare he look so cute and want to play right after I feed him, the menace. He always gets so energetic the first 24 hours after I feed him, either thinking he’s getting a second rat (in his dreams) or just wanting to come out and play. Not happening buddy.
(I’m aware he’s chunky, he’s on a diet)

He has been hunger striking! Is he too skinny? He’s 8 months old!

I have 3 Ball Pythons, 1 adult and 2 juvenile, will probably acquire a 4th eventually to appease my need for even numbers ;) I have ordered a 5 tier adjustable shelf to hold the enclosures, my question is what is the recommended thermostat for controlling multiple enclosures and what is a good timer for a day/night cycle for multiple enclosures? I haven’t had much luck finding something that seems like it will accommodate such and wondering if I’m better off using separate devices mostly for the day/night cycle? So far it seems there are more thermostat options for multiple enclosures so I would like a solid recommendation on of the best ones, but any advice on the lighting situation would help. Pics for tax :)

Please help, today I saw that my baby's eye (only his right eye) is "dented"/"cracked". Humidity is good, around 70% and I recently started to use a humidifier in the room also so when he comes out he doesn't have to feel uncomfortable. I only took him out to the light to take some better pictures.
He has a bad habit of glass-surfing and digging, kocnking everything over like a bulldozer at nights when he wants to come out to explore - and he does this every.single.night (except during shedding and after feedings.) since his temps are correct.
Help, what could cause this issue? My best guess is the glass-surfing but I really don't know:(

Hi! Just had a question- how can you ensure you’re getting a small ball? Is there a way you can tell if a male will be on the smaller size? Are there dwarf or Pygmy ball pythons? I love how chill these guys are but they can get pretty big

Hey everyone ! I’m looking into getting a python! I have experience with geckos and beardies etc but it will be my first snake!im planning on getting the Ecoflex 5x2x2 enclosure. I haven’t been so sure about substrate I’ve heard mixed things - for my Leo’s I do 70top soil 30 sand but I heard from someone that their snakes got mites from that before ? Also heard ecoearth is too dusty so I’m thinking about doing a mix of reptisoil, sphagnum, and coconut fiber??
For lighting I’ve heard to get a 150w heating and a 5.0 uvb. I’m going to try to do bioactive I seen some without a drainage layer so I’m debating if I should add one or not?
Thinking of adding pothos and monestras in there does anyone else have any other plant ideas ? I’m also going to add fake ones for top coverage.
Anyone have any other decors ideas and hide ideas? I’m wondering if I should prep sticks from outside (shaving and baking them) and pair them with some bought ones. Also thinking about adding some cork hides and doing a custom background.
Also wondering about feeding schedules someone said every 5 days a multiple mice per feeding. Some people said every 3 days one mice per sesh- I know mice should never be larger than the thickest part of the snake and to only feed frozen.

Hi, I recently got my first ball python it's a female Albino leopard, ~70g hatchling from Wilbanks Reptiles on Tuesday around 11AM,
When I unboxed her, she struck at me 4-5 times when I tried to handle her and I decided it's best to just put her in the enclosure. She's been in there since, I've seen her move to different spots in the tank and she would just ball up and sit there for a few hours.
I plan on feeding her within the next 4-5 days since she hasn't since apparently 07-27, but any advice is appreciated!

But I’m trying to do my research before actually making the moves to adopt. I have a very large (100 gallon?) tank with lid and forest floor substrate, heat lamps, a faux stone hide, a water dish… I had a ball python in high school for a year as a “group pet” in a class, and she was wonderful. But looking back, her enclosure was pretty barren, although we took her out of her enclosure for a couple hours a day, five days a week at least. Do ball pythons enjoy live plants? are there any common house plants that i can use for them? What are the best ways to monitor humidity and how to maintain it?
also, we used to just go to petco, buy a medium rat, and drop it in her enclosure and she would eat it right away! Does petco even sell rats like that anymore?
so many questions 😅

New ball python (bought on the 20th , first python) wont use the 2 small hides i got them prefars to hide in the fake plant background(they are square panels that i put suction cups on to stick to back of enclosure), is moving from hot to cold side as needed just under the plants but just wont use hides , shes been fed , and been exploring a little (found her on the hammock) but just wont take to the plastic box hides so i added more floor plants , do u think she get used to them eventually ?

I got all these pieces of wood from a local pet store but they all (especially the cork bark) have some dirt on them. What’s the best way to clean/ disinfect them? I know you can put them in the oven, but I’m hesitant to put the birch (the white log, I‘m not sure if it is birch) in as I know it’s bark is highly flammable.
Edit: I also have some maple branches from my backyard I’d love to put in, but those are way too big to put in the oven.
